meh, I never claimed Kendrick was a pure good kid, I just said it's about rising above it, loving yourself and living rightous which is the same thing.

Anyway for what it's worth I was just being dumb. XXX is totally not promoting violence but rather portraing the evil circle in compton. Third verse speaks for itself

GOAT song. My fav from DAMN.

Speaking of Kendrick, I think his last verse in The City is probably his best work ever. Imo.

This bleeping song Tunnel Vision has to be the most annoying music ever made. Everywhere i go i hear this, my co worker play it all the time on repeat, i'm about to cut my veins open ffs

Archetype of what i dislike in modern rap.

I feel Game doesn't get the respect he deserves. He's obviously not the most technically or lyrically gifted MC to ever live but he was enormous for the West coast when he came up. The Documentary is a classic and his discography is actually pretty damn good overall for an overachiever like him.

But Kendrick completely merked him on the City.

Never Catch Me is by far my favorite Kendrick feature.

The City. Now I have to go listen to it again. I agree it might be his best ever verse. At the very least top 3.

I loved Game's 1992 album though. Personally think it's his best album in a long, long time.

I like the game but he is quite hit and miss. It seems like his best tracks are often when someone else features in them

my favourite tracks of Game are

How we do ft 50
hate it or love it ft 50
My life ft lil wayne (probably his best?)
The city ft Kendrick

Anyone else remember when Kanye and 50 were going head to head circa 2008? I think apart from that Curtis/Graduation competition, Kanye comfortably dispatched 50. 50 just fell off badly because he refused to evolve from gangster rap.

Think it was more than that. He just stopped working on music. He thought he could make himself a star in hollywood or become a pop icon.

I still would take 50 over kanye any day but the difference between them is that Kanye still works as hard as he did before breakthrough while 50 couldn't be bothered after thinking he is the king of rap.

But Kanye also has other things he does asides music. Sneakers, clothing line, etc. I just think 50 sounds exactly the same as he did in 2003 and the world of music moved on from that a long time ago. He did have one sick mixtape recently though. Think it was last year. The Kanan Mixtape. His best work since The Massacre imo.

Liked his first 2 albums. Doc obviously a classic.

Got tired of his damn name dropping.

I really liked the Documentary Part 2 and Jesus Piece. The game is one of my all time favs tbh, wish he and 50 never feuded. The two of them together was magic.

I never loved Jay Z that much, of all the greats but 4:44 is a great album. The Story of O.J. is by far and away the best track on that joint and the music video is awesome to boot.

Always found Jay Z boring. Appreciate the impact and the talent though. But not my type.

Any Wu fans here? Check out this mix. I don't know if its some random guy from youtube who mixed this or if it came from an actual producer.

I don't know about that. I've heard a lot of edgy as hell rap songs. This song gets pretty fked up, starting at 3:44

A$Ap Ferg and Dave East just sound like they've doing this together for way longer than they actually have. Paper Chasin'still my favorite track from them.
