United I think will have the better short-term future. City still have a lot of waste Pep will have to toss in order to sculpt the team he wants. I'd say it might take 2-3 seasons to really reach the heights Pep is known for.

Didn't think you'd jump ship to City this quickly.

There's a difference between wanting and expecting them to win.
Also, Man United are hugely overrated because they have the biggest hype machine in the world of football working for them.

And you think Man City arent ?!
Just cos Pep's managing their team their apparent lack of quality in defense is given a free pass by pepsters and media alike. On paper if we look they have one of if not the weakest defense in the whole of Europe among the big teams.
Now I know you will argue its Pep and therefore by some fancy mumbo jumbo he will make uber scrubs like Kolarov and Sagna look like prime Alves and Lahm and everything, may be he will. But if you say you guys are not overrating the current city side and the quality they have throughout the pitch based on the sole fact that Pep's managing them, then I wont agree.
P.S I do agree United's overrated as fck too. In fact theres a glaring weakness right at the center of our formation called fat Rooni who helps our opposition more than he helps us He is instead considered a strength by everyone just cos he pops in with some fluky assists and goals here and there in games.
The truth of the matter is both teams are overrated. But City's overhype is far more than United's I genuinely believe. 90% of the pundits and media alike have put them as possible title winners this season overlooking all of their flaws.

Not sure Manchester City are any better with their own hype machine. Just go and notice the Champions league odds. They are bigger favorites to win CL before Atlético, Juventus and PSG. They are just behind Bayern, Madrid and Barca in odds.

Personnel, definitely yes.
System and tactics, maybe not.
Protection from midfield, hell no!

Re: Manchester United Vs Manchester City : Who has the brighter future ?
Short term about the same, maybe United based on what the manager wants to achieve.
Long term it's City. They have a better academy, more focused coaching with Rodolfo Borrell (ex Barça youth coach) being the head of youth development. Their players are being coached now for a specific style and to cap it off they have Pep as theor first team coach so the transition will be very smooth.
United have no strategy but to buy the best. Our scouting was all based towards SAF but since he left the club has no Long term vision. We are turning into Real Madrid except they have a bether youth system and a lot of the youth coaching in Spain now have the same strategy.
The only difference is Madrid sell theirs to other clubs but even now their 1st team has Ascensio, Lucas, Carvajal, Casilla Morata and Nacho so even that comparison is loose at best.

United definitely has the better future, Rashford, Pogs, Martial etc. City may have hacks like Gabriel Jesus and Stones, but you can count on Guardiola to ruin them, i mean this is the guy who got Xabi and benched Thiago. Who's only notable promotion from Barca youth was Bojan and look how that turned out

Chelsea have the numbers, when it comes to the youth though. Statistically, that should give them an advantage.

Not sure if RG hacked your account here.
Mertesacker is ok, but has his well-documented shortcomings. Koscielny is among the best CBs worldwide, even if you discount the RG-Hype-Machinery.
That said, Mustafi is a solid addition to phase out Mertesacker. Gabriel can still turn it around (Koscielny took his time to grow into what he is today too). Holding and Chambers have the potential to be the bedrock of our long term CB partnership too.
With Bellerin and Monreal, we have a solid pair of full backs. Gibbs and Debuchy will be consistent, if not stellar, backups to the pair. So that is sorted too.
I haven't yet given up on Jenkinson, especially if he can go back to the pre-injury West Ham levels. That would ease him in when we move Debuchy on.
(All this, with Cech in goal and Ospina as a more than able players waiting in line).
In all, that's pretty solid.

I hear this argument quite a lot but I hardly see any youngster coming out of their ranks (barring a Iheanacho here and there). i wonder why.
Agreed they have world class facilities and everything but United's recent revamp indicate we too are moving in the right direction. Nicky Butt's appointment as the Head of Youth, Spurs youth team coach Mckenna to be the U18 manager, buying Chong and Burkhart - 2 wc potentials, plus our so called Talent of a Generation Angel Gomes, I dont think Uniteds' far behind either in youth.
Its the usual media making mountain out of a molehill scenario last season (and of course comparing it to City's wc facilities) when our u18 lost 12 matches in a row or something because of LvG calling up most of the U21s to first team squad making U18s playing in U21 and basically some kids playing in U18s in the process.

I like how City with Pep break a spending record but they get lauded for their youth academy and usage.

Eh? If there's one thing you can't criticise him for is an ability to develop players lol.
He doesn't ruin kids really, you can criticise for a lot of things but that isn't one of them.
I mean wasn't he playing Kimmich and Coman over much more experienced players last year lol.
You were much more fun when your trolling wasn't so blatant.

What has that got to do with anything? Quite obviously if players like Ianeacho are due to the work over the last 4 to 5 years.
What happens this summer has nothing to do with that in the slightest, besides it's only compared to Man Yoo who also do *bleep* all really.
