EURO 2016 France - Group B

Post by Jay29 on Sun Jun 05, 2016 11:38 am

B for Banter :coffee:

(Times below are French kick off times - just subtract an hour for UK times)

I wonder who's idea it was to put England vs Wales on at 14:00 in mid-week when nobody in the UK can watch it Laughing

Anyway, think this will be a very competitive group. Wales, Russia and Slovakia can all take points off each other, while you never know what England team might turn up.

Three Lions is so unbelievably timeless Laughing

Funny how the themes of it still apply 20 years later rofl

Euro 96 one is better though :coffee:

Dem critics at the beginning rofl still applies lmao.

Nicola Rizzoli to ref England/Russia.

Also reports suggesting Walker and Rose are going to be our starting full-backs.

saving grace is that the group isn't that strong so they might not be found out till later stages

The group is strong, though hmm

There's not one team in it that's easy to beat, although you can't expect attacking fireworks from Russia, Slovakia or Wales. They won't go far in the tournament but they can cause trouble in the group stage.

Apparently Hodgson is considering playing Sterling and Lallana against Russia - he wants some pace in the side to exploit Russia's ageing defence. Vardy is expected to miss out.

So team could be:

Hart

Walker - Smalling - Cahill - Rose

Dier

Rooney - Alli

Lallana - Kane - Sterling

Something about that midfield three that doesn't look right. Not sure what though.

It could be this also:

Hart

Walker - Smalling - Cahill - Rose

Lallana - Dier - Alli

Sterling

Rooney - Kane

Which is a bit better, but I'm uncomfortable with not having any CMs in the team at all.

Hamsik nearly scores a worldie. Heroic block from Davies to stop that.

Good Lord, has Ramsey dyed his hair platinum blonde? Talk about bad decision making.

Not sure how Ramsey managed to become so unlikeable in the last couple of years. Seems like that one great season has disproportionally gotten to his head. Or is it just me.

It looks like he's done a Nasri, which isn't a good sign.
