PS.Spain is a better team than Brazil. There are no doubts.

I never said that they are, you are the one that is claiming that Europe is strong and South America isn't. I just said the best teams in South America are stronger than the majority of Europe's " elite ". Which based on the last major tournament they are.

PS based on what? last time they were in a major tournament ( only way to really judge this) Brazil was in a semi final and Spain were out in the group stage and their only win was against Australia lmao.

Brazil under Dunga and Uruguay who got destroyed by Rebs better than all European teams except for Germany Laughing Laughing Laughing

Why not add Costa Rica to the list too.

Mole your points don't make sense when you talk about SA teams in the PRESENT day.

You talk about Belgium, France, Netherlands, Spain not being good. Like Brazil are? Lmao. Look at them these days. Uruguay? Still don't have a point in their group, losing to Mexico and Venezuela...

Colombia we'll see about later in the tournament, but as it stands they finished below the US in their group. Chile and Argentina are quite good. Don't get me started on Paraguay, Bolivia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru...they're all shite.

"Netherlands has Newcastle players" yeah and Colombia had Carlos Sanchez, Aston Villa player (maybe former now) playing for them. Chile is a good team whilst having a backline with players on shite teams, stop acting like that means anything.

You single out Europe for only having a couple teams that are any good and aren't really that good. I won't even argue against you on that, my argument is to point out that it's literally the same thing with South America. Probably worse Laughing

Oh and Modric has continued to be one of the best CM's around for several years now. Not even surprised by his goal today, dude has ridiculous technique and can hit a beautiful ball from time to time

EURO 2016 France - Group D - Page 5 Empty Re: EURO 2016 France - Group D

Post by Cruijf Mon Jun 13, 2016 12:34 am

The problem with this discussion is NT football in general is extremely poor. Germany is the best team in the world but they would get destroyed by any of the top 5 club teams.

Mole you are correct in that Spain is utter trash (anyone that says otherwise hasn't watched football since 2012) and that pretty much all European teams barring Germany and France are scrubs. But that doesn't automatically mean South American teams are better. They may have dominated the WC but look at them now. Chile, arguably the best SA team in the WC, were rolled over by an Argentina without Messi. Uruguay are completely irrelevant. I don't think I need to mention Brazil, and Colombia couldn't even beat Costa Rica Laughing

The only three NTs in the world that could be considered "top" are Germany, Argentina, and France. The rest of the world whether Europe, SA, or anywhere else is complete and total rubbish.

Spain just needs a new coach with fresh ideas , they're still one of the most stacked teams on paper  Laughing They're just   going  through what France's golden generation went through in 2002-2004.
Portugal's future looks very promising with young players i like Gomes , Sanches , Carvalho , Bernando silva , Guerreiro , Joao Mario  etc...
Belgium is another team that could use some better coaching .
England's  young talent will only improve with experience .

Where does this myth come from? Other than their midfield they have no CF, no real wingers, no pace, their best GK is in the middle of a sex scandal and their CB pairing is Ramos-Pique Laughing

Yeah, the CB pairing  that won the last Euros . Laughing And they played with no CF in  2012 too .
They have Denis suarez coming up , Morata is fast  , Nolito is underrated because he doesn't play in a " top " team , and that injured basque striker looks very promising as well . hmm

acting as if pique and ramos are bad, or like anything will ever happen to de gea with that false claim

Spain needs a few tweaks new manager and they'd easily be one of the favorites for the tournament.

It would be very strange.  Aduriz had 42 goals and 13 assists this season...  he was fantastic.

The only reason would be because of age...  but what kind of excuse is that Laughing  VDB always makes strange decisions anyhow.  He also started Torres when he was pathetic despite other CFs playing much better. He doesn't like targetmen CFs for whatever reason.

Don't act as if winning the Euros makes them automatically a good CB pairing. With prime xaviesta Spain had the best defence in Europe, without them they're losing 5-1 to Holland Laughing

Clearly the CBs were not the important factor. Pique-Ramos is a weak pairing that has been exposed time and time again and will hurt them.

That Spain team looks awful. They have young guns on the bench in Koke and Thiago and lineup a midfield of semi retired players. The attack is cringe worthy and the fullbacks are worse than ever. The only positives in that lineup are Busquets and Ramos
