Don't be silly.
Sanogo definitely deserves another chance.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
The Daily Mirror says Arsene Wenger is set to meet with Alexandre Lacazette's representatives. Lyon want £45m for him. West Ham (LOL, 2016 WTF?) have had a £42m bid rejected. Atletico also keen.

Not really. Deschamps had his preferences and simply went with what he felt was working. Important to note as well that Giroud and Gignac are a different type of forward to Lacazette.

Not feeling him either but I guess he is better than nothing. He can also play wide so there is that.

Lacazette is same height as Santi...no way these rumors are true.
Vincent Janssen would be better although still short guy.

Janssen is 5'11" - I wouldn't call that short, it just means he's not an obvious aerial threat.
ESPN Brazil link Arsenal with Gabriel 'Gabigol' Barbosa. From the Arseblog report on it, Tim Stillman suspects it's agent talk though the player is expected to move to a bigger club this summer.

What the hell has height to do with anything?
Not like Suarez and Aguero have struggled in the PL playing as strikers in recent years.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Slimani being linked now.
Great move imo, doesn't cost a shitton in today's market, he's better then giroud as a goalscorer. Putting him in gives you guys much more bite as he is very aggressive (in a smart way, not a dirty Diego Costa style).
Lol at height being important. I'm gonna say this, unless you're a CB or a goalkeeper, height has to seriously be the most overrated attribute in the world. And 5'11 is tall, not short.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Arsenal’s bid for Gabriel Barbosa is starting to be taken seriously in Brazil. After ESPN saying the player was excited with an offer from the Gunners, Radio Bandeirantes are claiming that everything is done between Santos and ‘a big English club’.
According to Elia Junior, the Premier League side are paying Gabigol’s €18m release clause, which doesn’t give Santos any chances of keeping the player, and it’s in the his hands now.
Gabigol officially has a €50m release clause, but his agent Wagner Ribeiro recently said that European clubs have the option of buying him for €18m.

I am all down for this

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
We all know West Ham are going nuts bidding for Lacazette, now this: Crystal Palace's €38m bid for Michy Batshuayi has been accepted by Marseille according to L'Equipe.
As Jay mentioned before, lower table Premier League clubs are really thinning the pool out. There are obvious £50-60m+ strikers and the youngish ones who would be more of a gamble are getting their fees pushed into that region. We have to be quick.

I was mocked when I suggested to pay the €40m for Higuain way back, look at the market now. Wenger just won't adapt.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
He seems a bit too weak from youtube for that. We'll have to alter our system a bit.
Should probably keep Giroud. Sell Walcott though. Gabigol can play as a RF too

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
I'm all in for Gabigoal, but this won't fix anything. He definitely won't be starting games as of yet, so this means Giroud is still in the freaking striker slot. Yeah, he can play RW as an inside striker, but he's far too raw to really consider as strengthening the team. He'd be one for the future.
I'd be definitely up for Higuain, big game flop or not. He's a consistent scorer and the system wouldn't even have to be altered. He might not head like Giroud, but at least he frakking moves and has a decent skillset. I honestly don't think 40, 50 or 60m is too much in this inflated market.
I mean Sanchez cost like 40m several years ago. Ozil, too. Big game players require big money.
You know, I'd even risk it for Cavani. I don't think he's finished as of yet. His style would thrive in the PL and he has great workrate and is very mobile (see a trend here, Giroud?). The only issue I see would be obviously the funds, because from what I recall he's on big time wages, too.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
PSG already lost Ibra, no way they will lose Cavani this season. Higuain will be around 60 mil at least, even if Lyon is hard balling us, Laca will be 15 mil cheaper.
Have a feeling Wengers wants to go for Vardy just because it was supposed to be quick fix, sudden deal to not drag out throught out the summer. Now that Euro is half way and Copa finished, expect every dog will be sniffing around any decent striker left. Heck guys like Vargas or Pelle who was bang average might have some pursuers himself.
There is no work around, time to go in with bloodthirsty approach and bag full of gold. A very wrong transfer season to go for strikers, very wrong.
