We alreasy know from GRRM that the Battles for Winterfell and Mereen are happening early into TWoW, Stannis will win I think since the Boltons are in disarry due to mance and the spearwives along with the lords loyal to the Starks causing major havoc. Jon, Sansa and the Vale won't be involved at all.

I agree. I also think Stannis will win the war when the Manderlys turn on the Boltons. Not sure what is going to happen to Stannis after that though.

Right, sorry I meant for the battle of the bastards if there ever is one. The battle of Winter, I used to think Stannis would win but he seems to not be part of the end game so perhaps he will fall in battle even with Manderly support?

Well maybe, maybe not. He could still have an important role to play in the books, he might day in the battle. I can only repeat myself in that I wouldn't use the show to try to figure out what's going to happen in the books.

As for a battle of bastards I don't see that happening at all. If Stannis wins, how could there be one?

I'm not sure. I guess we will find out. To be honest there are some huge differences with the books already, still not sure how Aegon will change everything in the south. He could take KL.

GOAT episode in terms of cinematography. The battle following Jon around was amazing. The dragons too.

Finally Ramsay died. Now who knows what Littlefinger will do with Winterfell.

Only worry with Stannis is that he isn't a POV character. Which means he is pretty much doomed. He could sack winterfell but after that? It's not going to end up well for him.

Aegon's conquest still remains a huge mystery. I think he will end up taking the king's landing with the help of Dorne. Daenerys has to kill him though to prove he is fake.

Just speculation of course but I think Stannis will win the battle against the Freys because the Manderlys will turn their cloaks. After that though Stannis still has to take Winterfell. Roose Bolton is alive and he won't meet him in the battlefield. Which means a long enough siege for Jon to come to his aid.

I can't tell if Stannis will be alive for long but I am pretty sure that Jon WILL come south to take Winterfell with or without him because GRRM has set that up perfectly with the pink letter.

I can see Sansa and Littlefinger also making a move for Winterfell, if you've read the Alayne I preview chapter

Spoiler:
Harry the Heir seems infatuated by Sansa already and when Sweetrobin "accidently" dies, Harry will give Sansa the Knights of the Vale to take Winterfell.

“I’m Prince Aemon the Dragonknight,” Jon would call out, and Robb would shout back, “Well, I’m Florian the Fool.”

The gift of a sword, even a sword as fine as Longclaw, did not make him a Mormont. Nor was he Aemon Targaryen. Three times the old man had chosen, and three times he had chosen honor, but that was him. Even now, Jon could not decide whether the maester had stayed because he was weak and craven, or because he was strong and true. Yet he understood what the old man had meant, about the pain of choosing; he understood that all too well.

Classic GRRM irony.

Qyburn killing Pycelle is probably my favourite change from the books. It's just so fitting and his death scene was so well adapted to screen.

I'm not a fan of whitewashing at all so I dislike it. Varys is a 100% good guy in the show.

Yeah he does bad things to people who are bad. No different to Daenerys.

That scene with Kevan was chilling, where he just explains Kevan is a good man but has the misfortune of actually being competent and he wants chaos for Aegon. One of the best scenes of the series.

Read 'em.

There is some incredibly good writing in the subplots, and the whole story just flows better. You feel for every character. George has a knack for creating some very relatable characters.

Book 6? No one has any frakking clue, but I sure hope it's before GRR dies this year so I can get some GoT fix before next season.

So no TWOW announcement at the end of the season. I gave it a 20% chance but I'm still a little disappointed somehow. Looks like we are getting nowhere.
