absolutely destroying them

of course we are the biggest bottlers on the international stage so if we meet them in the actual tournament we would lose

2-0 Kane.

Looking at Sterling's finishing so far, we're gonna need Kane to score with every shot he takes.

Honestly, nice half of football made in part by Nigeria playing like legit plebs (maybe there are tbh). Still, nice football. Are the fans booing Deli Ali and why does his hair look like he thought of doing a young Cristiano hair do but changed his mind half way through?

2-1. Iwobi scores after creating a great chance for Ighalo.

Loftus-Cheek on for Lingard and Rose on for Young.

This half has been a good test for our defence.

As I sort of feared with England, whenever a team actually decides to play them with a proper passing game as Nigeria did in the 2nd half, England sit back way too much and concede any meaningful possession (be it through the flow of the game or on purpose, not sure). The 2nd half performance from Nigeria was a much better preparation for England and personally, did reasonable to hold the lead despite what I wrote just now.

All in all, nice victory.

So apparently Southgate has told Dier and Henderson that only one of them is going to start from now. hmm

Henderson-Delph-Loftus-Cheek midfield tonight. Vardy and Rashford up top.

Going by these last couple of friendlies, the set-up seems to be:

Pickford/Butland/Pope

Walker/Jones - Cahill/Maguire - Stones

Tippier/Arnold - Lingard/Loftus-Cheek - Dier/Henderson - Alli/Delph - Young/Rose

Kane/Vardy - Sterling/Rashford/Welbeck

I quite like the look it as the two CMs are instructed to break forward into the channels and I think that suits the likes of Alli and Lingard. Sterling gets a free role so will hopefully be less predictable than he can be on the wing.
