Damn Berlu. Even when the club is getting away from his hands, he makes decision that will keep us awful next season.

Re: Vincenzo Montella
tbh I don't get why Milan fans after all the coaches after Allegri are upset for Montella .I was going to write it to ES yesterday too..
I believe you are conditionated from his last season in Sampdoria, when he came at half of season ( it's not easy , a team not adapted for him he hadn't chances to build him and , besides, Eder was sold ) because I think most number of Milan fans would have wanted him during the three Fiorentina years.

Re: Vincenzo Montella
Its quite true i've wanted him during the Fiorentina days, i will give him the benefit of the doubt. However, i personally preferred a slightly more renowned coach to give the squad a confidence boost (Think like when Balo arrived in 2013), instead of the usual bargain bin deals we scrounge as usual

Good manager. Like Robes said, the best manager you've had since Allegri. Hopefully he gets a full season at least, lots of work to be done.

It's not, but surely it has to be seen as a step in the right direction?

Meh, we've had Sinisa before (who was an actual coach and not a youth manager turned coach) and look how it turned out, like always, i'm cautiously optimistic, but we'll see

We don't know anything about what kind of owners the Chinese are going to be, but they'll surely be better than the B of the last few years. Even if Montella as a standalone doesn't warrant any optimism, the situation at the club coupled with his signing should.

Re: Vincenzo Montella
I think the hiring of Montella also is good sign that the Chinese takeover will be completed. Berlusconi wanted to stick with Brocchi and if he wasn't absolutely sure of selling, I doubt he would have okay'ed Montella.
With regards to him as a coach, so much depends on how our transfer market goes and what kind of say he is given (under potential new ownership).

Re: Vincenzo Montella
Miha was a pretty good coach, considring the aboslute dross he had to work with in all levels of Milan.
Montella is a good coach, but if he gets no support from upper shit maangment, he won't do anything as well.
Milan is a very toxic environment, and it hinders both coaches and players.

He's reported as wanting to play a 4-3-3. It's so lovely that our coach might now have the freedom to pick the formation, not our President.

Re: Vincenzo Montella
He is going to be able to play without some of the detriments that hampered the likes of Allegri/Seedorf/Inzaghi/Miha; the management and their stubborn view.
If he does end up getting the Chinese support, then I do not see why he wont succeed, we all need to remember the coaches previous did not have successful transfer campaigns after Allegri. If Montella gets his picks, we will see how far he can take us.
I see no reason that "this is a step back," thats kind of silly considering our last coach was Brocchi, even Miha doesnt have anything on Montella. We will be happy for sure.
I would really wait till the takeover before I lose hope.

really happy with montella, i think with chinese, and his input on players he wants, i have a good feeling that he will do well. he made fiorentina play really quality football ! at times i thought fiorentina played one of the best football in europe under his reign.
he will need time, and he has good experience

Re: Vincenzo Montella
Football Italia
Ignazio Abate praises new Milan Coach Vincenzo Montella’s possession-based approach.
The Rossoneri have once again appointed a new tactician for the coming season, having had Filippo Inzaghi, Sinisa Mihajlovic and Cristian Brocchi over the past two campaigns.
“It’s still early to make a judgement because I haven’t known him for long,” Abate cautioned when asked about Montella by Premium Sport.
“But he’s definitely a well-prepared Coach who bases his football on possession of the ball. Not since Leonardo was here have we done so much training with the ball.
“We’ll get to know each other better and work on tactics, we’re all available to the Coach. We need to have a better season than the last one.
“It’s been hard, because the past few seasons haven’t been good enough for this club. We must grow in self-esteem and quickly put these three bad seasons behind us.
“We know there are stronger teams than us, but we can’t be out of Europe again.”

Re: Vincenzo Montella
The guy is using terrorism as an excuse to join us. Besiktas' president called him out on it.
“I think Sosa assumes we are stupid. Saying he’s scared of terrorism is just an excuse. Terrorists blew themselves up in Paris, there’s a war on in Donetsk and let’s not forget this is a post-9/11 world.

Is the guy retarded? Who starts Poli in 2016? Literally anyone is better and why start Abate after Mertens ran circles around him?

Re: Vincenzo Montella
i personally think the results w/ udinese or napoli has lot to do with how situation was poorly handled by management, (galliani and his co.) rather than montella, and results are now there to see.
basically i still think montella is bringing good input to milan. he is putting playmaking and posession football as focal point to the game but we simply dont have players to do that.
so results is there to see... marco fassone has to basically undo everything galliani has beeen doing. and its an incredible mountain of task. i cant see milan being near competitive to top 3 teams for another year atleast. plus galliani renewed some of the players contract for so long ... it disgusts me
so i dont think montella can do anything for now. if he manages to even get milan to europa league, would be a hell of an achievement but i wouldnt be surprised if milan finishes same position as last season
