Axel Witsel is just fine.I think he'll do good here , he's not a amazing player but he does not have weaknesses.
He will improve further with Allegri.Let's not forget Witsel made Zenit refuse a 30 mln € offer from Everton just to join us.Zenit payed 40 mln € for him 4 years ago.
Beppe was clearly prefering to get him next year for free but around 20 mln € for a potential starter ain't bad, especially with the ridiculous deals these days and Newcastle wanting 35 mln € for Sissoko.

At least we wont do a panic buy like last years Hernanes.Pray to God we can get rid of him soon.

As for Cuadrado I'm very happy he's staying.He has that juventino spirit and feels good here.He never complained about playing time and being used mostly as sub here.That's rare for a player of his level.

With Cuadrado in, we must solve the situation for Lichtsteiner , it's painful to lose such a player , I would keep him but he will see the bench now that Allegri has made Alves a starter right away.

It's better for him to go,preferably outside Italy, maybe Borussia Dortmund or Monaco could be good options for him.

In the end I'd give this mercato a 9/10 . I know we couldn't even dream of approaching player such Pjanic or Higuain etc in a single transfer season but I do miss the grinta we had with Vidal,Pirlo and Pogba.I'm optimistic of our new midfield as well and the team is stronger than ever,insane depth.But I'll wait to see Witsel and Pjanic , how will they do , we cleary have lost a little in midfield but potentially we have the players in midfield to do even better.So for now a 9/10 for Mighty Beppe if both Cuadrado and Witsel will be official deals today.That Isco idea on loan would be insane though...

Wary of Juventus’ transfer business this summer, Inter and Napoli are determined to avoid losing major stars to the Bianconeri in the near future.

The Italian champions plundered both Roma and Napoli this summer to take arguably their best players in the form of Miralem Pjanic and Gonzalo Higuain respectively.

As a result, the Partenopei are to be joined by Inter in now ensuring that their biggest players’ contracts include clauses which prevent them from making the move to Turin.

The clause would come into effect in the event that there is no interest whatsoever from foreign clubs in securing the services of the player in question.

Inter are keen to avoid losing their captain and striker Mauro Icardi to the Bianconeri and when he pens a new deal at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza next month, his €110 million buyout fee will only be able to be activated by a foreign club.

In Campania, three Napoli players’ contracts have stipulations that their release clauses can only be met by clubs outside Serie A, €70m in the case of Kalidou Koulibaly, €40m for Elseid Hysaj and €65m for Piotr Zielinski.

I love how they have "united" their forces under our rule of Serie A.It's dirty business but in the end they know they will simply push us to a even higher level on transfermarket.
Only Napoli did a good mercato by approaching young players but still that's not enough.
We still will get the majority of Serie A talents via friendly teams like Sassuolo.

First they banned the co-ownership deals and now they are striking us with anti-clauses.Poor rats.
We should just buy half of Serie A teams then

I'm a fan of Cuadrado and will love watching him play for us again. But not sure if I'm a fan of the transfer, I just hope that it won't kick out Litchsteiner and that it won't block Berardi next year.

We have a buy option for Cuadrado based on number of games he'll play.If Lichtsteiner leaves he will surely play enough games to activate the option.

The situation with Berardi is a bit unclear tbh.Cuadrado will adapt his vice-Alves role at RWB so that ain't a problem but the problem is that with Dybala & Pjaca he will have to be a rotational player or even replace Dybala who may get sold in a year or two.

Confirmed: Chelsea winger seals Serie A move in bizarre loan deal

Chelsea's Juan Cuadrado is returning to Juventus on a three-year loan.

Cuadrado signed for the Blues from Fiorentina during the January 2015 transfer window but made just four starts before being allowed to return to Italy, where he helped La Vecchia Signora to a fifth successive title.

Having impressed Blues manager Antonio Conte during his loan spell with Juventus last season, the Colombia international had been expected to be given the opportunity to fight for his first-team place at Stamford Bridge but the clubs have agreed a deal that will see Cuadrado return to Italy.

Under the agreement, Juventus will pay Chelsea €5million per season for the duration of the three-year deal with the opportunity to purchase him on a permanent deal for €25million.

"Juventus can today confirm that an agreement has been reached with Chelsea for the loan of Juan Cuadrado until 30 June 2019, for an annual consideration of €5 million," Juventus said in a statement.

"Juventus has the right to acquire the player on a permanent basis, or will be obliged to upon the achievement of agreed team results during the loan period, for a fee of €25 million, payable in three financial years, minus the loan fees already paid.

"Should Juventus achieve certain sporting results during the player's contract of employment, the club will owe Chelsea an additional €4 million in contingent payments."

According to Sky Sports, there is the agreement between Juventus and Zenit for Witsel. The problem now is that the Russian club must find a replacement. So Zenit have about three hours to get a new midfielder, and then there will be the green light for the passage of Witsel to Juve.

I'm god damn sure 20,5M is way less than what the player is worth on the market, let alone the fact that most players don't stay four years in the same club anymore

According to multiple reports, Zenit have asked for more money and Juventus are hesitating over Axel Witsel.

The Belgium international was given permission to leave training with his country last night in order to undergo a medical and is believed to already be in Turin.

However, Sky Sport Italia and Calciomercato.com are among those suggesting there are big problems holding up the move.

Zenit seem to be demanding more money after a deal was done for €18m plus €2-3m bonuses.

It’s a dangerous game for Zenit to play, as Witsel’s contract is due to expire in June 2017.

He’ll be a free agent in a year and able to negotiate a free transfer with a club of his choosing from January.

Juventus have reportedly made a last-gasp €24m offer for Torino midfielder Daniele Baselli, as Zenit stall Axel Witsel.

Follow the news as it breaks on our transfer deadline day LIVEBLOG.

The Belgium international flew in to Turin for a medical last night and had agreed personal terms.

A deal was also done between the clubs for €18m plus €3m bonuses.

However, Zenit are seemingly refusing to release Witsel until they have a replacement lined up and that is taking longer than expected.

The main option for Zenit is Andreas Samaris from Benfica.

SportItalia claim Juve are turning their focus towards Torino’s 24-year-old talent Baselli for €24m.

Failing that, Hernanes could stay in Turin and not be allowed to complete his loan move to Genoa.

We've pretty much made a *bleep* profit and we still couldn't get ANY of our midfield targets. We left it until way too late and when Zenit realised they couldn't replace Witsel with the precious little time left they got cold feet.

Would you blame us for turning back on selling Khedira because there was no replacement out there available in short notice? I wouldn't.


Because of our failings post-Pogba this is a 7.5/10 mercato for me.

Way too indecisive and cheap in the midfield department despite spending less money than half of the 2nd teams in Europe, leaving us with 2/3 first choice midfielders being injury prone. 2 Bench midfielders both going to the AFCON next year AND Hernanes AKA the lad who *bleep* up every time he comes on for 5 minutes is going to play a BIGGER part in our squad because we couldn't spend 20M on a player.
