Haven't read anyone saying he was bad. Most complaints are the movie is incoherent. Joker wasn't in the trailers much even.

The people who complain he wasn't in it enough only have themselves to blame.

Why would they do that? They should have known people want to see more of Joker.

Idk I will be really surprised if David Ayer made a mediocre movie. Will probably watch it this weekend.

Watched Suicide Squad. It was decent. It wasn't boring at any point, but the editing and pacing was a mess, antagonists were horrible and plot was meh. I really enjoyed Deadshot, Harley, El Diablo and Waller. Rick Flagg was decent too. The other characters were bad, Killer Croc was a bad racial stereotype, Katana had like 3 lines, Slipknot was a joke, Boomerang was campy as f too. Enchantress was eery but turned out to be shit.

Really hate reading early reviews, now my first impression will be biased af. Or maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised by the excessive hate and actually like the movie.

Can we post early reviews on a spoiler tag the next time? I'm sure I'm not the only one bothered by this.

Probably avoid this thread all together then? There's not much else to post in this thread the weeks of release.

Bad reviews only help me enjoy a movie more tbh. Expectations are lowered accordingly.

I'll avoid the thread next time for sure but I was giving a suggestion.

I agree about expectations.

We can try though. I just think it'll be hard for everything not to be a spoiler. But we can try once doctor Strange comes out. Think that's the next one.

Spoiler:
Its a negative for me. There is a limit to campiness, I don't remember him having one serious piece of dialogue.

Watched Suicide Squad. Sigh.

Probably one of the worst comic book films ever made. Right down there with Fantastic Four and Iron Man 3.

I can't believe they spent this long to make a film this..amateur. It felt like the film was made by a bunch of teenagers. Bad editing, bad directing, bad CGI, bad sound mixing. I mean there was a song playing every 5 minutes over the dialogues Laughing

The cast had about 5 dialogues between them apart from deadshot and Harley Quinn. Deadshot was good and so was Harley but that was obvious even from the trailers. They didn't bother building the others. Amanda Waller was good too.

Me and my mate tried our best to remember one good scene but couldn't. However there is this one scene involving Killer Croc towards the final act which was unintentionally hilarious. Had a laughing fit (M99 might know).

Don't want to mention the villain.

And you know the most embarrassing part? The mid credit scene was better than any scene in the film (not including certain cameos). And I am not joking.

4/10

First impressions of Jared Leto as the joker.

Worst joker ever. Felt like he was a korean cosplayer trying to act OTT. No idea wtf they have done to him. Good thing is that he can actually improve him for the batman film from this point.

To me from the little we saw of The Joker, he was just a psychotic crime boss and nothing more.

Man I did not expect you to hate it so much. But man the songs you are absolutely right Laughing All great songs but every five minutes they used to play one of them Laughing

I did enjoy the scenes of the movie though. Those that involved Deadshot, Diablo and Waller were good.

Re: The Official Comicbook Movies Thread: Part 3

Maybe i am biased because I never felt anything for it from the start. Right from the first trailer it never felt like it will turn out good.

But many enjoyed it as 'mindless fun' and i can see that. It has made some huge money already. It has also attracted 10% more female viewers than any other comic book film (no idea why?) so far.

Jared Leto came out saying he shot enough joker scenes to make a whole film but most of them were cut off. Weird if true. Think they made a 4 hour film again and tried their best to edit into 2.

Haven't watched it, but about Leto being the worst Joker. Has there ever been a bad Joker before this one? I can't think of one lol.

I've literally had to call off going to the cinema multiple times because apparently the movies were shit. Twice the last month with Bourne and this Suicide Squad.

Sad

Just seen Suicide Squad, some quick thoughts (mind i'm not a big comicbook guy, just follow the cinematic universe):

-Don't like that the movie was more centered on Deadshot and Lucas Lima
-Loved Leto as The Joker, especially his laugh
-Liked the chemistry between the cast
-Harley Quinn killed it
-Asuka was great
-Generally liked the movie, plot could've been better, but i liked it better than BVS. 7/10 for me

Yeah SS is around 7/10 for me aswell.

Enjoyed it very much. Deadshot was my favorite (most focused on aswell)

Leto's Joker was good but not enough screen time imo.

Harley Queen ffs :banderas:

Didn't care about the rest of the squad. The aussie was the worst one.

Movie started great but became generic & boring towards the end. Still doesn't deserve such low rating.

shitttttttttttttttttt

They are running with Superman:Doomsday storyline. Loosely.

But this ruins the chance of a superman clone arc.

Must say as someone who hasn't read the comic books, Suicide Squad was a very average movie. Not a great plot, terrible villains. Loved Deadshot, El Diablo, Harley Quinn and the Batman/Flash cameos. Joker was so so, he was awesome in some scenes and cringeworthy in some others. I didn't hate him though, Leto did a fine job with what they gave him.

It was not up to my expectations from what I saw on the trailers. It's probably my least favourite movie of the extended DCU.
