Lemina needs to hit the bench for at least a month. Let Hernanes, Sturaro, Marchisio, Mattielo, Cuadrado, Sandro play there instead.

Great from Buffon, great from Sandro and Cuadrado, great from Allegri.

0/10 to Lemina

good from Higuain and Dybala, good from the rest as well.

A very hard-fought win.

Positives:
-We played nice attacking football in the first half despite that we lacked a specific shape
- I don't know when was the last time we won when we had less players than the opposing team.
-BUFFON.
-Cuadrado is the key in these kind of matches.
-Bonnuci, what a game despite the silly penalty.

Negatives:
- The regista role is our weakpoint. Marchisio is needed ASAP. We need another midfielder in Witsel.
- Set pieces.
- Dybala's role has changed. I prefer to see him trailing back like before.

The only problem with Witsel is that he is cup tied.

Yes yes yes, Sandro was amazing!! The tactics were good and we regained some structure when Benatia was introduced.

Yes, but he still adds depth and gives Marchisio a rest.

I thought Dybala was our best player in the first half, him or Higuain. Second half not so much, but then the red card screwed things up.

Sandro at LCM after going down to 10 men was a great move.

Cuadrado is just perfect to unlock a tough match cheers

In the first half Lemina was really really great in defense but he is so immature ffs  and naive but he'll learn. Higuain was probably the best player in the first half. In the second half well we can't really judge, Pjanic was great he was instructed to play in front of the defense as DM and he did great, Cuadrado is a great joker player. Alex Sandro was MOTM for me, amazing player, worldclass left back, left winger, cm, LCM... he can play everytihng.

We don't need a player like Lemina. Saying he is great in defense is not much when he is in front of 3 CBs and between Pjanic and Khedira. We need more, someone who can control a game. If its just to run and tackle Sturaro is better.

He combines the bad attributes of a DM with the bad attributes of a true regista. He doesn't do nearly enough running and tackling for a proper DM cause he has the pacing of a regista, think of proper DMs like Mascherano, Van Bommel, De Jong, Medel, etc.

But while he has the pace and positioning of registas, he has the bad passing of a DM. Nothing like the passing of Marchisio, Valero, De Rossi, Jorginho, Banega, and thats just some in Serie A.

He doesn't show enough promise to invest this much time in him.

What he is is a poor man's Khedira in every sense of the player.

Sandro and Pjanic are better at LCM. Khedira and Sturaro are better at RCM. Marchisio and Hernanes are better at CM. Then we put Witsel on top of that plus Bentnacur apparently. Take the 20m and send anywhere else.

I'm extra frustrated because of the red card, but how is it that so many teams in Serie A can field a better player in front of the defense than we can?

Roma: Strootman, De Rossi, Paredes (3 players!)
Napoli: Jorginho, Diawara
Fiorentina: Borja Valero, Badelj
Milan: Montolivo
Inter: Banega, Medel
Genoa: Rincon
Lazio: Biglia

^All of them would improve of situation. Plus some other exciting youngsters here and there.

Mind blowing that Lemina, who wouldn't displace the main CM in half of Serie A teams is thought of as good enough for us. Particularly in a situation where our main guy (Claudio) is known to be out for so long.

I never saud we need him, I said he was good in defense no matter who played with him or behind him, that has to be said.

I think Sturaro is a good player who can become the new gatusso, I love Sturaro. Plus he has a Juventino heart. Last season he was playing with a broken foot according to him until he broke it completely and had to go off until now.

Man I wanted us to sign Diawara Sad

Yeah that's what i was thinking after the match. This summer i was happy we did not sell because i thought he deserved a chance with Juve.

Pogba and Marchisio out of the squad, Asamoah on misform, Hernanes... it was the perfect scenario for him. 3 months later he did not seize the opportunity he was given.

Talking about Witsel, i don't think he is cup-tied with Juve since Zenit compete only in EL ??

There has to be something in him that Paratici and Marotta saw and didn't sell him for 20M so far he is showing just glimpses of talent nothing more. I am sorry I thought you were replying to me i.e. meant it for me nvm.

Khedira slowed down a lot after a bright start to the season. He will come back no doubt, for now he is a bit too weak. Once they are fit I wanna see Pjanic-Marchisio-Sturaro to amp up the energy while Khedira figures himself out.

Guys, chill with Lemina. The Regista role is just experimenting with Lemina and Hernanes until Marchisio is back. Lemina plays very well at CM. This Regista role has been a mystery ever since Marchisio got injured. Lemina has potential in him. I think that the fouls he commited which caused the red card weren't harsh and didn't receive the yellows. In my eyes he went for the ball.  Lyon should have received a red card in this match, not us.

As for Buffon, We will try our best to convince him to play beyond 40. If he is on his form, he really can't stop and Juve need him. He really wants to lift the the Champions League, so if we couldn't do that in the next few years, he could extend if he feels he can. I can't see anyone who can replace him except Donnaruma, who, unluckily has Fatto as his agent.

Yeaaah, I was thinking too thag Witsel could play in the  CL, just like the other year when Torres joined chelsea and he was included in their european squad.

Situations
Lets say Zenit St Petersburg sells a player to Juventus

Cup tied:
- if Zenit and Juve played in CL group stage
- if Zenit and Juve played in Europa League group stage
- if Zenit played then lost in CL qualifications (at any stage) and got reversed to Europa, while Juve played in CL
- if Zenit was playing in CL and finish 3rd of their group, while Juve played in Europa group stage

Not cup tied:
- if the player was not registered for european matches by his former club (obviously lol)
- if the player compete in UEFA Supercup with his former club but was sold before the squad submission deadline (in the summer so does not apply in this case)
- under extremely rare circumstances the UEFA will waive the rule

So i'm 99% assuming Witsel is available since i could not find an exact answer for this particular event. Logically it would have been one of the first specifications.
