well they're both inspired by pretty much the same things (spielberg, stephen king, etc), so that's hardly surprising

Sure, but it was a joke about the subject matter. Great joke, especially after that shit acceptance speech where the winner yelled "LET'S TOPPLE THE PATRIARCHY"

Jeffrey Tambor must be the least funny "comedian" ever. Such a good actor though, he does what he does amazing. That confused role he pulls off is great.

Well he was great in Arrested Development but IMO that's because of the cast and how well everyone reacted to him and how amazing he was in that role

But in season 4 when there was an episode based on him alone (as was the format), he was really boring. That was mainly the material admittedly but he was kinda exposed in there.

Tatiana Maslany finally won. It was about f'ing god damn time. She's been the best actress on television for years.

What an achievement for Malek, he was competing against some amazing actors as well.

A bit disappointed that Lena Headey didn't finally win an Emmy for her incredible performance in the last couple of seasons but since I've never seen Smith in Downton Abbey, I can't really complain about it. Same with Jonathan Banks.

GoT as a show made up for it though, Miguel Sapochnik won Best Director in the drama category for "The Battle of the Bastards", D&D won best writing, GoT won Outstanding Drama. All these awards make GoT now the most awarded Drama in Emmy history

Oh and I'm reading on Vice Principal's subreddit that apparently the 2nd season will be the last. Good news is that it's 18 episodes at least.

Already filmed and will kick next summer.

Tom did you finish Ray Donovan, solid season but the finale was meh

Ray and his family can't lose ffs, comes out unscathed in every situation

bit unbelievable that some Russian boss would be rolling with just a driver smh

I did, great season but yeah finale was too clean

Like I said though if Ray is constantly brushing up against high rollers like mob bosses etc he needs to make some bank and hire some muscle. Would have been more believable if Ray and Avi and some of his ex soldier friends of whatever were executing this synchronised hit. Not his bro's and dad lol

Season 2 is a top 5 all time Season of television for me. Didn't really like the first 3 episodes of season 1 but it picks up. Just don't expect the mystery to be solved, it's not about that.

So I should just power through the first season just for the expectation that it's amazing in season 2.

I'm down to do that. Want to watch amazing television atm. So if season 2 is amazing I'll get on it.

Season 2 is so amazing. Still furious about the lack of Emmy noms for acting.

Season1 second half is good, but 2 is where it's at.
