Mahmoud Dahoud Appreciation Thread

Post by Don't call me James on Wed Sep 28, 2016 9:13 pm

What a player. Absolutely dominating Barcelona's midfield. So good on the ball. Very clever passer. Amazing work rate and pressing. Got a nice assist as well.

Best player on the pitch today.

Future Anfield legend

ffs Hames. You're not content with ruining Thorgen Hazard's career and performance, you're also intent on ruining Dahoud's career on the same night?
Gladbach are already behind because of you.

Someone needs to ban this guy ffs. This is getting out of hands

I don't get why bigger teams than Dortmund and Liverpool are not after this kid. Since Verratti is unavailable Dahoud is next best thing in midfield and who ever gets him won't need a CM for a long time.

I'm 100% sure that he WILL get linked with the Barcelona's and Real Madrid's next season when he joins Dortmund but I think it's dumb that they wouldn't sign him now when he's available for £12m (release clause). You only have to watch one game of Dahoud to see what a brilliant midfielder he is.

Weigl-Dahoud and Reus-Pulisic-Dembele-Auba infront of them.

And have also signed Toprak for CB. And Piszczek was competing for this month's BL player, was the best defender for sure.

Dortmund are coming you all you CHL teams next season ! Too bad Arsenal & some other teams would probably miss out !

All these signings will be for naught if Tuchel is still manager. Dortmund need to get Nagelsmann asap.

6 points ahead of Hertha and a goal difference that makes it worth 7. They will qualify.

Could be worse. You could've paid 50 million for Gomes.

Not too well so far. He's still teenager so I'm relaxed about it.

But he's hardly getting any game time, and when he comes on for 10 minutes he looks a bit like a mixture of over-motivated and under-integrated.
He started the season pretty badly in his first appearances, no wonder after the Euros and not a problem.
He looked out of rhythm and at the same time clearly wanted to show too much. A couple of unfortunate appearances.

Then he got a few more minutes in fall and he looked to be more comfortable as part of the team and improving. He didn't do anything of note but he looked fine for a couple of games.

Then, he's getting less minutes again as at this stage of the season Carlo has his first 11 which he only deviates from if must be, or to give Müller a start.
Now Renato's back to looking a bit uncomfortable in his few minutes. I think the transfer fee is weighing on him.
Also, people are expecting stuff he won't deliver. He's not a playmaker or pulling-strings-type midfielder. He's also not a extraordinary technician.
He's a runner and a fighter, all action midfielder, he's basically a future Vidal backup, but I suspect this type of game needs to gain rhythm and momentum.
He also needs a success moment, a goal or assist or something.

But again, I'll start to worry when he doesn't get more game time next season. Then we should start thinking about loaning him out.
