It's a serious question, because while I have no doubts that Neymar is an absolutely exceptional player he actually looks there on the pitch for Barca like he does not care and he also doesn't actually produce anything.

is he messi? no.. but he is the second best left winger behind ronaldo so thats why he gets paid well.. doesn't hurt he's the next big thing after the big two retire and only 24 years old.

Really? He doesn't look better than 2 years ago to me. In fact he looks much worse than 14/15, when he was fantastic. That's just in the select instances I watch him of course.

his overall game is improving, a lot of things clicked for us in 14/15 i wouldn't credit it all to neymar or a single player

but to me neymar seems to be maturing more
he's looking for the pass, trying more difficult through balls isn't unnecessarily dribbling (or well does it a lot less frequent than before)
it shows when he plays for brazil.

but to your question as to why he is getting paid so much, it's simply because of demand.. PSG were willing to shell out that much for him so barca had to raise his salary to keep him.
