South of Lemoyne there's this place called Catfish Jackson's. Heard a father and son arguing inside. Got in and the father told me to leave, and I hogtied him. Son went hiding under the bed, threatened him and he told about money stashed away in the fireplace. Also found a letter from his mother pleading him to come live with her.

Wonder how many of these are strewn across the map.

He hasn't been doing as much random shit as me basically.

I've been doing a lot of hunting, gambling and other random stuff.

I found out about that place ahead of time, some NPC tipped me off to the location lol.

I just had my horse killed by a local gang so I was decidedly pissed, naturally I charged into their with a double barrel shotgun and blew both their heads off.

I did the same thing, ended up killing both, because I'm a scumbag, however they pulled weapons on me first, although rightfully so. I think they're related to a Strauss minor bounty activity later, so not quite so random, still cool you can rob them far in advance.

think I've found/been to all major settlements now, pretty content with how many there are and the size of them, like how they're all pretty different

though haven't been back to blackwater, sure you eventually return there

also regarding that father son encounter thing, I went back way later after sparing the son and this time he was ready for me lol, little things like that I like.

I'm obsessed with the challenges and hunting too, got a few tough ones atm though for challenges. need a reliable area to find birds of prey to take out with tomahawks ffs. only found 1 via story.

cant see myself touching fishing much despite the legendary fish

just cba with that

If it's a cougar I'm pretty sure you can 2 hit at most with a bow.

Can confirm. Don't have any problems with predators unless they surprise me or I leave all my good guns on my horse. Even bears go down after 2-3 shotguns.

Despite getting one shot bow and arrow kills, I almost never get perfect pelts. It was infuriating but I dug this up. Should be useful for you all.

The legendary panther? You have to 9 of the 10 master hunter challenges for it to unlock on the map.

You doing the legendary animals+fish? So far I took down the Legendary bear, bighorn ram, wolf, bison, and fox. Also a loan shark mission had a white cougar and the strange rmission I mentioned had a

legit male lion Laughing

I haven't done all the hunter challenges but I remember in RDR 1 you hunt some unique animals for the very last challenges.

Not all of them appear on the map Hosea gives you btw, there's some which are hidden regardless.

I only found one because a random hunter in the woods gave me direction lol.

do you naturally assume everyone you see is an enemy of the state?

I feel like pulling out my bow but then they pull out their guns straight away. Results in a blood bath but maybe i should be less of a danger?

caught up in a thunderstorm last night, rain blasting down and I'm randomly exploring woods with my lantern out, can't see 5 feet in front of me, stumbling across abandoned shacks and not so abandoned shacks while eerie music plays, love how there's a little story everywhere if you're inquisitive enough and patient enough

Rockstar

The atmosphere in the game is incredible and you mentioned the lighting, which I think has a big part to play in it. Not only is the lighting very realistic in the way it works, but Rockstar has definitely deliberately played a lot with creating environments (via mechanisms like fog especially, wind, clouds for god rays, dense forests, snow, rain etc) that occur fairly often, a least compared to real life. The synergy between these weather effects and the lighting create incredible atmospheres, and thats without mentioning the great music.

Tap left, not hold.

Also holding down options instantly brings up the map.
