If it's a cougar I'm pretty sure you can 2 hit at most with a bow.

Can confirm. Don't have any problems with predators unless they surprise me or I leave all my good guns on my horse. Even bears go down after 2-3 shotguns.

Despite getting one shot bow and arrow kills, I almost never get perfect pelts. It was infuriating but I dug this up. Should be useful for you all.

Damn this is insanely useful and I have been afraid to look things up in case I stumble on spoilers.

Thanks!

Finished the story, this is the best story Rockstar has ever told and it isn't close.

Arthur is brilliant, last main character to make me feel this way was Geralt.

If I wasn't obsessed with 100% the game I'd immediately replay it like i did with Witcher 3 for the same reasons.

I think I'm close to the end of Chapter 4, hope I have a decent amount left.

I’ve attempted to kill 3 small animals with these small game arrows and they never kill them even if I’m near and hitting right on the head with Dead Eye. I don’t get it.

As someone who is still on chapter two I don't think it's spoilers to say but I'm shipping Arthur and Mary Beth hard. I feel like there's something there between them and I'm really curious (and hoping, she seems so nice, and beautiful) to see if that will flesh out in the story anywhere.

We'll see!

I left them and watched it play out, Unique style, and ran into them again later lol.

Some of those random encounters have multiple layers, which I like.

Think I'm probably halfway through chapter 5, wasn't a fan of the beggining of the chapter tbh. I like Arthur as a character but he won't be going down on any all time great lists for me, certainly not. Dutch is a great character though. Wouldn't mind playing as him someday in a prequel. Young Dutch hmm

the black and white duo? that's because they were pretty much innocent. lol.

unless you're talking about a legit random encounter. I have those now and then, took one back to the sheriff and was pleasantly surprised to see him react and give me money since it wasnt a legit bounty

It was a random encounter near the grizzly mountains at night. Got impatient while listening to them talking about killing someone, so I moved out from cover. They started shooting at me, so I had to fire back. My honor dropped, both from killing and from looting them Crying or Very sad

I hope there's a cheat you can unlock after beating the game, so I can turn off the honor system. Would be nice to be able to kill and rob people without suddenly becoming stigmatized by store owners and civillians. It takes forever to turn around the honor bar, as well. Aside from a few voluntarily tasks in the camp, a couple of side-missions, and greeting every person you see, there isn't that much one can do to increase honor.

I have, as well. But when the honor bar dropped down to just sliver left,I suddenly couldn't buy any ammo or weapons anymore. That sucked. Had to roam around Saint Denis and greet people forever, in order to get it back up Laughing

Interested to see if you still feel that way when you finish.

The writing, acting and general character arc all combine to put him up there as one of the best ever imo, I went to sleep dreaming about it ffs Laughing

I genuinely can't comprehend anyone feeling any other way tbh.

I like Dutch, and it would be cool if there will be a spin-off or sequel that centers more around him. Arthur is a decently strong character. I don't know if my opinion on him will change by the time I complete the game, but I think his ramblings about how he belongs to a bygone era, and how the heyday of his generation is coming to a pass, could've been explored more in-depth to flesh out his character.

As for the RDR2 vs Witcher 3 open world comparison, I don't think there's any doubt that RDR2's open world is objectively superior. It's more technologically advanced, and it simply offers more of pretty much everything. I find it hard to claim that RDR2's world is better, though, since I personally preferred the less realistic settings of Witcher 3's environments. Running into those mysterious, fat hags/witches soon after entering the swamp area, had more of an element of surprise and mystery to it than running into a group of bandits in RDR2's swamp, as an example of a like-for-like comparison. It's personal preference, of course, and I find it hard to put it into words, but I suppose TW3's world had a stronger tendency to leave an impression, despite it's inferior technology and amount of content.

I feel like the game feels very centred around Dutch as it is , it's like Star Wars prequels where it's clearly about Anakin Skywalker but it was also massively centred around the rise of the Emperor.

Obviously not from a quality standpoint as this is way better than those films were but you get the comparison.

Nah, I caught plenty of fish easily before.

Also seem to have some sort of glitch not letting me progress a stranger quest, supposed to get information from one of the train station clerks on some Moonshine but he never gives it to me ffs. Been trying to progress it for like a week.

I'm on Chapter 6 now, hoping it's longer than the rest because there's still a lot I need from the story for it to crack my top 3 this gen. It's def top 5 atm though.

Agreed. That red salmon on Ambarino I nearly spent half an hour on. Reeling him in makes like 1% progress and then that fucker just zooms all the way to the other side of the lake. Frustrated the hell out of me.

So naturally the second time I chucked dynamite in the lake and to my utter surprise it worked rofl Immediately mailed the fish to that guy.

Honestly? I'm gonna be burnt out after RDR2. Game is absurdly long. (haven't been able to track time) so I doubt I'll be picking another huge game up anytime soon despite what I said before.

I'm like 8 hrs post Chapter 6 in RDR2 and it feels like it's never going to end. Not that I'm complaining.

I don't remember which chapter I'm on. It's good that the game is long, though. I've had so much to do this past week, that I've been too tired to turn on my console whenever I've been home. I'll finish the game eventually.

What is this Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales? Just noticed it in upcoming games on Metacritic. Also, Gwent is coming out in december. I thought it was already out. Was it the beta you guys were playing before?
