Can confirm. Don't have any problems with predators unless they surprise me or I leave all my good guns on my horse. Even bears go down after 2-3 shotguns.
Despite getting one shot bow and arrow kills, I almost never get perfect pelts. It was infuriating but I dug this up. Should be useful for you all.
Damn this is insanely useful and I have been afraid to look things up in case I stumble on spoilers.
Thanks!
Need to bump this post.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Studying an animal displays info on the weapon needed for perfect pelt. Also you only get perfect pelts from three star animals.
Btw I finished the story.
Btw I finished the story.
- Spoiler:
- The RDR 1 sawed off box art (John with the sawed off) being recreated...
John walking out of the barn the same way he does when confronting the military in RDR 1...
The ending sequence in the mountains when RDR 1 main theme kicks in...
Game of the generation for me. I did not expect the story to be THIS good.

It's not much but some details, interesting that you can attack other players hideouts i wonder how that works.
I liked going after gang hideouts in the first game but it was completely PVE.
Red Dead Online opens up the game’s hyper-detailed version of turn-of-the-century America to multiple players, who can ride together in their own gang of seven and go hunting, fishing and outlaw-hunting together. Players can also challenge others to shootouts, riding into other players’ hideouts with a posse, and compete in open-world challenges. Characters from the single-player game will return, but instead of playing as gruff Red Dead Redemption 2 protagonist Arthur Morgan, players will create their own character to explore the game’s five microcosmic states.

I'm just glad MT isn't playing RDR2. I don't even want to think of all the annoying crap he'd do online in this game

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I remember being in a two vs four situation in S&D with MT. I was confident that I could've taken out the other team by myself, but I happened to be stuck with MT on a catwalk thing on a construction site type of map (I think it was a Black Ops DLC map), and he thought it was a great idea to block me in so that my only options were to either stand there or jump to my death. Neither of us died, but we lost the round.
I was pretty pissed off, but I tried to ignore it and focus on the next round. The same thing happens, all of our team mates die early, and it's me and MT against 4-5 enemies. I made sure that MT couldn't block me in this time, but then he decides to follow me around and empty all of his ammo and explosives so that the opposing team were always aware of our position. I honestly wanted to strangle him

For anyone who hasn't played this game yet, this is probably the best RDR2 review I've read:

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Completely disagree with him on the story. As far as I'm concerned nothing touches this game as far as Rockstar other games are concerned when it comes to writing, general character arc and no game other game other than Witcher 3 made me care about so many characters on such an emotional level. (be it negatively and positively)
With that said it is a very good review despite my disagreement on one aspect and Eurogamer do consistently good stuff.

Just for fun. I want to craft some of those crazy hats and trinkets. I've also caught some of the legendary fish, but it ain't fun I low-key hate the fishing mechanics, and even if I enjoyed it, spinning the thumb stick around for extended periods of time has taken it's toll on my thumb. Ain't no one..

The monetary system is greedy AF.
They need to fix that ASAP otherwise it will bring down the rest of the experience.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I'm gonna get into it tomorrow, well give it a chance anyway.
The comments I've read online make it sound VERY rough, which isn't surprising. Will judge for myself but I hope it doesn't take them like 6 months to get it into a good state..

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I’ve done the tutorial now and some missions, it’s really fun. It’s only enjoyable if you have a team/crew though or you get destroyed out there (as you would expect in the wild west).

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I think the game glitched for me during the tutorial part where you are supposed to open a chest out in the desert. I opened it and got it's contents, but the questline wouldn't progress. After a while of looking around for more clues, I decided to head back to the chest and simply close it, and suddenly I could advance the quest again.

Yeah...so far its been rough. Not much interesting content either. Best part I've done is the stranger mission on Macfalane Ranch,

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Not having stuff to do isn't my issue, it's a Rockstar game i can make my own entertainment especially with friends.
It's the bullshit monetary system, it's insanely greedy. The mere fact selling a Gold Wedding Ring gets you less money than the cost of buying a tin of beans says it all and it goes further.
I've seen people compare it to GTA, but that's honestly bullshit. You can make millions in a few hours in GTA, which isn't the case here.
Unless they fix it i for one won't be playing it and i suspect most won't.

They payout for missions and selling stuff is like 1899 but the prices of buying stuff is like 2018

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I got 4$ for a mission with a mayor and had to spend most of it on ammo because you had to kill over 20 guys who were all well hidden and firing at you at the same time.
Making a camp costs 2$ every time lol, I just can't be bothered man, this grind fest is not for me. I don't even have to work so hard in my job ffs.
