Who would you start up front vs Tottenham?
Re: Arsenal vs Tottenham (16/17)
Spuds have only conceded 5 goals in 10 games.
This stat worries me immensely.

Re: Arsenal vs Tottenham (16/17)
If I want to worry you more I can tell you the only goal from open play they conceded all season (in EPL) was against Leicester last week and that was from a Wanyama header to Vardy --> Musa (goal). AKA large defensive mistake
Really it's the only thing Spurs have going for them here. Arsenal and Ozil have been scoring for fun though so I don't think we'll see Tottenham manage a clean sheet here. I wouldn't be worried if I were an Arsenal fan tbh

No. We couldn't even put one past Boro.
Our 'free scoring' has been a paper over cracks, pretty much. We struggle to open scoring, and manage to end up with glossy scorelines which don't reveal the real picture.
Sunderland and Ludogorets are prime examples of flattering but deceptive scorelines.

Also, CSpurs, you are a bit too blatant in your attempts to invoke the powers of GL Jinx. It is a bit too obvious, a.k.a. won't work.

Re: Arsenal vs Tottenham (16/17)
There's a disgusting amount of reverse jinx attempts ffs. Nothing wrong with a bit of confidence, lads.
Like with any game, Arsenal need to be weary of being sucker punched. Spurs, with their strong defence, will relish and fight to protect a single goal lead. Our recent games against them at home have shown this. The last two games we've gone 1-0 behind and have had to really fight for an equaliser.
I've seen a few previews really big up our attack for this. Yes, we have in form attackers, but against a well organised team, and a very physical team, they're not going to have it easy. If we win the game I can't see it being more than a single goal.
This is a game for Xhaka. His recklessness of course is a risk but his ability to play the ball through the lines and his intelligence in creating angles for team mates will be very important against Spurs' press. In fact, I'd like us to play Xhaka and Elneny together for that very reason. Coquelin will relish the physical battle but won't fare so well under pressure. Similarly, Mustafi's positivity on the ball will be significant as well.
Depending on how aggressive Spurs are, we could be able to play the ball in behind as well. So I hope we see Alexis start up front, and Walcott come back into the side. This isn't a game for Giroud to start. He became very isolated in recent games against Spurs and Alexis' tendency to come deep for the ball would help us play around the press.

Yea agreed. Hopefully Theo is fully fit because with Rose being a constant threat, Walcott will be quite usefull both attacking and defending. Can see Pochettino start Sissoko on the wing to help against Bellerin.

Sissoko is suspended because he's an idiot.
And while I am trying to invoke some reverse jinxing, I legitimately feel Arsenal will take this.

Re: Arsenal vs Tottenham (16/17)
Agree on Xhaka-Elneny and Theo-Alexis, but Coquelin is bound to start if we're being honest.
--
I can say in earnest that my posts had no element of attempted jinxing, reverse jinxing, or any such thing.
I am genuinely convinced that this will be a tough, tough game and we'll struggle to create. Our supposedly in-form attack, who couldn't break down Boro, will draw blanks against the best defense in the league.
And if we do manage to score 1 somehow, due to a Wanyama-to-Vardy-esque mistake, Spurs/Kane will do so as well given how porous we're at the back.

Nothing per se, I actually was hoping that Xhaka started, but was expecting AW to go for a safer option in Coqneny.
Ideally, I would have liked to see Xhaka-Elneny, but that is probably a bit too risky given that this is a derby game.

That's a real defensive Spurs midfield, plenty of kicks and foul in coming. I can see them fouling a lot and getting away with it while Xhaka and Coquelin get booked for their first one
