Coutinho is definitely out of the team now then. You can't help but feel sorry for him even though he's a beta. He dreamed of this move, left arguably a better team to fulfill his dreams but is about to be forced out of the club and end up in French BPL without much of say.

This is done dealio but someone needs to explain to me why we are July 12th and Barca have not sent their lawyers to the league office to pay for Griezmann? His clause went down on July 1st and if it was straight forward they would have paid already.

From what I remember, there is an hostile tax when a spanish club activates the release clause of a player at the league office. I remember La Real made us pay higher than the release clause for Illarra due to the tax, because they did not want to accept the fee directly. Could this be the reason?

Also heard Barca were trying to negotiate the fee with Atletico, including Semedo in the deal to make the price go down.

Barca are obviously rich but there seems to be a cash flow issue right now
