I wouldn't say he's mad but some fans criticized him especially after he confirmed that he's leaving this summer . And Deschamps was at the game He better not call Gignac this time.

Doubt it. Not that it matters. We are keeping him and going to let him go for free next season unless Bayern takes him off us.

Nothing can convince him after Wenger signed a new contract. I don't blame him, I wouldn't stay either

Why don't people learn with this 4231 stuff? Xhaka and Ramsey are going to outright suck and the team is going to be massively open.
Has everybody just forgot how bad their midfield was before the change?
Calling it right now but unless they buy a completely new midfield, they won't finish top 4 with 4231.
Memories are hilariously short, they just don't have an optimal midfield pivot while playing with a back 4.

I'm sure Salzburg or Mainz have some striker you can buy. Or maybe how about Modeste?

Re: Alexandre Lacazette
The problem with Ozil and Sanchez was that they viewed Arsenal as a downgrade from where they came from... so there was a sense of entitlement. Sanchez got over it and made an impact. Ozil didn't quite get there although he was good.
With guys like Lemar and Lacazette... this is the next step up in their careers and they're looking to really make a name for themselves. So they are going to play with a different kind of fire.

Re: Alexandre Lacazette
Adding on to Sports great point.
I honestly don't think this improves Arsenal much unless Alexis stays, or unless they sign someone like Lemar to add something new. If anything I think Alexis up front was a better look for Arsenal as he could comfortably drift to all 3 forward roles and provide speed, passing and finishing while Lacazette will come in and be the 9. Keeping them both improves the team drastically, but just replacing Alexis with Laca doesn't really improve the team much, IMO. Plus you got Ozil who looks to be on a steady decline and can't be counted on anymore to win you big matches, and Walcott who should of been moved on years ago (could bring in someone fresh with those wages he makes). Then you got Santi who is awesome, but is also on the wrong side of 30 and going to be injured for a while after the season starts. Bellerin who Barca are still hounding. I mean this Arsenal team still has some issues here even with this signing.
Another concern is, if after this signing, will Wenger go into "I've now spent enough for this window/I've spent my entire summer budget on this big signing to get us over the hump" and not sign anymore actual impact talent.

Re: Alexandre Lacazette
He's not being signed to replace Alexis. He's being signed to upgrade on Welbeck and Giroud. If/when Alexis goes we'll replace him with someone else.
It goes without saying we'll be a much better team with Alexis in it, but regardless of his situation we needed a striker like Lacazette.
We're actively trying to get Lemar as well, which suggests we want another midfielder/attacker. So it's not going to be a case of Lacazette and done.

Re: Alexandre Lacazette
I also think that really competitive players in their prime, like Lacazette, want to make NT for the upcoming WC. With the amount of competition on France NT for his position, he really needs to produce and play at a very high level.
Just a little extra added incentive.

Re: Alexandre Lacazette
You need:
-Destroyer like DM that can take away Xhaka's defensive duties and red cards (Luiz Gustavo, Carvalho, Krychowiak) etc
-A playmaking RW who can shoulder the burden while Alexis and Laca penetrate (Mahrez, Di Maria)
-A defesive LB in the form of a mini Abidal who can slot in with the CBs if Bellerin bombards forwards (Hector, Mathieu, Kurzawa)
-A young keeper who can play with his feet (Areola, ter Stegen)
You get these profiles and you can etch my name on the PL trophy

Ozil was never a great player to begin with, Real winning everything after his departure is not a coincidence, one of the most overrated players in recent times.

Re: Alexandre Lacazette
Ozil was at Madrid when Pep's Barca were dominating everyone. It's not a coincidence that Madrid starting winning because of Ozil's deprature...the difference is Barca started to decline while Madrid started adding allot of great talent in all areas. One cycle ended and one began, has nothing to with Ozil holding back Real Madrid, LOL. FFS
I like how quick people are to call players over rated on here. Per GL standards even players like Messi and Ronaldo are over rated, it's insane.
