BBC has played hell and high water with our last three coaches, just how much can they do about it?

All I have to say...Asi gana el Madrid.

Also, Isco clearly gives this team a better shape.

This team fights very very very hard. We've just hit the wall physically a bit so our work rate isn't being sustained. But once we get our energy back (which we will), it will be fine.

Next three are against Las Palmas, Eibar and Real Betis... after that it's Bilbao.

I think we're ok. Just fight through the mid season thing that happens.

Morata and Isco know what it means to play for Real Madrid.

All it took was some efforts, little effort which was lacking until we went 2-0 back and made the changes. Zidane seriously needs to work on the pressing game, it is disjointed on the front, disjointed on the midfield and on the back.

We have no creativity coming from the midfield if Isco isn't in there... no threat. that's the issue. Casemiro/Kroos/Modric isn't creative at all.

we don't press. we can't press. there's no reason to ask for something that the squad isn't suited to execute. unless you have wingers that will give you work rate, it's impossible.

We have pressed teams plenty of times. Look no further than the Napoli game and you'll see what pressing rewards you with. These LL teams like ZZ said player with more passion against us so have to fight extra hard but we can't do that when the front 2 do not press properly

next season, if we're going to keep this benzema character around, we better sign a striker who's top quality and not someone to sit on the bench. i assume morata will be considering an exit once the season is up, and i can't blame him for that. cristiano is hardly a threat to anyone these days, he'll have his good moments, but it may just be getting to that time where we want to reconstruct things.....that first half was woeful. i don't know what i would have done if zidane let benzema stay on for the full 90 minutes...

Hats off to Villareal, they were amazing and probably deserved the victory. I don't think I've watched a more entertaining match this season so far.

All 3 keepers were outstanding. Poor finishing on our part in the first half really made this match more interesting than it could have been.

You really think we can put on a consistent press with BBC??? Come on now. The important odd game here and there... sure. But you ask them to do that a lot and you'll have a mutiny.

We have to have some minimum game plan to win the ball back. The first half was just wasted because we couldn't take the ball off them for 45 minutes. That is a clear problem that we have to address. We can't let other teams waste time like that, not that much anyway.

Casemiro was placed too deep and close to CBs. The two CM were then asked to press along with lazy BBC and Villarreal easily bypassed it. We should press with proper shape not this half arsed pressing with entire backline staying back.

If BBC is such a problem why is Zidane not trying to break it? we have an actual alternative in morata off the bench that will actually do that off the ball work but since he is Algerian like Zidane, Benzema will always start.

Post by The Demon of Carthage Sun Feb 26, 2017 10:02 pm

I'm tired of our players waiting until they fall one or two goals behind to turn it up. This is a loser mentality and it has no place at Madrid.

I'm tired of playing without a plan, just relying solely on the talent of our players to win.

I'm tired of struggling against every single team we face, weak or strong, and winning at the death.

I'm tired of seeing Isco, Kovacic, Nacho and the rest rot on the bench while less talented, caring and hardworking footballers have their place locked in the starting eleven no matter how bad they play.

I'm tired of having lazy forwards and defending with 7 men.

The board needs to take matters into their own hands. Benzema doesn't deserve to be Real Madrid's number 9. Varane isn't good enough to be the starting CB and take over from Pepe. And Z doesn't deserve to be the manager of Real Madrid.

Here's what you should do (and fast): renew Pepe, never shop from France again, and replace that joke for a CF we have.

Either that, or get used to being mediocre.

you know, i don't get it. i like players being able to fight and all, but waiting until ure down a goal or two before showing some sense of urgency is extremely foolish. and its the lack of competition for spots that may be the cause of it, when guys know that regardless of how lackadaisical they play they'll always start then ofcourse that hunger to step it up another level diminishes. i'd like some sort of competition for starting places to be the in-thing again at madrid, and not this "sign players happy to be on the bench" policy, such policy is counterproductive

tito...  you know as well as I do that certain players cannot get benched no matter how much the manager wants to.  Best you can do is rotate them when you can.  But if you bench them, you will get fired in half a heartbeat.

In fact, superstar players are protected in all clubs. That's the downside of having too many stars on a team. Reason why the "galactico" policy is a big failure.

Zidane is loved by Perez I highly doubt he'd get fired for benching under performing players. I also highly doubt Perez will care if the results keep coming in.

What team benches its star players, good form or bad?  I'd like some examples.

He wouldn't get fired. He benched 80m James and he didn't get fired. He benched Isco, Kova and even Pepe, and he didn't get fired. Heck, at one point he benched Bale and Benzema, and he also subbed off Ronaldo twice.

Z is Florentino's puppet through and through. He's his protege, and he has done things that nobody else before him even dared to do and got away with it unscathed.

I'm pretty sure he could easily bench Benzema if he wanted to. He just doesn't want to.
