Real Madrid vs Las Palmas

Post by Doc on Wed Mar 01, 2017 3:25 am

A quick match thread just in case this match actually turns out to be anything other than a routine win. And going by our lovely style of play, I have reservations about that.

Depends which side of the bed BBC wakes up on... btw, is Bale healthy? As Hala put it, he hurt himself kicking air... literally.

Marca predicting a very different lineup, full of rotations.

They have Casilla in for Navas, Nacho in for Pepe, Morata in for Benz and in midfield they have Kroos in back of Isco and James.

Zidane did say a while back that he planned on rotations, maybe this the reason behind this for this mid week game.

However I was expecting the midfield to be Isco with Kroos and Modric. I like the idea of Morata (about time!). Although James does deserve some time, it would be better to play Kovacic if Modric is to be rested. I don't see an issue with the other changes.

and to answer Sports' question, it does seem as if Bale is a go!

@Sport, He is in the squad. I don't think they'd tell us even if he was injured and would wait for him to break down on the pitch just to avoid the embarrassment of yet another injury

Las Palmas are shit. Zizou should be making plenty of changes here. Literally only Ronaldo should keep his place and Ramos due to our shortages in the CB department

Real Madrid predicted XI: Navas, Carvajal, Nacho, Ramos, Marcelo, Kovacic, Isco, James, Bale, Ronaldo, Morata.

Las Palmas predicted XI: Varas, Simon, Aythami, Bigas, Castellano, Mesa, Viera, Gomez, Tana, Boateng, Jese.

Hala would post the actual line up.

Can't wait for Las Palmas to pour their hearts and souls out on the pitch while Sporting's 2nd strings trod around the pitch waiting for the clock to hit 90 Rolling Eyes

Of course Doc, as soon as they are out, they get posted here. ZZ better be changing the whole line up, though without Danilo because otherwise that God forsaken 352 might make a comeback nobody wants

We should score at least 3/4 goals with this frontline

Nice, Zizou taking Kovacic out of cold storage and finally giving Isco and Morata a start. I hope the latter scores a hat-trick because anything less than 1 goal and it's back to cold storage. Isco is going back to cold storage regardless of what he does.

Sigh, I'm gonna miss that Spaniard if/when he goes.

ZZ is more inclined to rotate the midfield when needed and they get subbed when not playing well so Kova and Isco should have plenty of chances. Besides Modric is like 31 so we should do everything to keep Isco Disco

Anyways, notice neither Danilo nor Coentrao is on the bench Laughing worst investments in my life time

Danilo is out injured and Coentrao is probably the same. The former, while being unfortunate for him is actually better for the team. Danilo starting is a goal to the opposition automatically.

Someone got a link for the real game? My stream shows Morata starting over Benz. Think there's something wrong.

Line up is an exception not a norm, if anyone is getting his hopes too high.

We have no midfield. Whenever Las Palmas attack it becomes 4v4. They are probably gobsmacked by the amount of time we are allowing them on the ball. Our pressing as a team is pathetic.

If we win the league it's going to be by limping towards it. When you see these guys play you'd think we'd already won the bloody thing

Well, the few things I am enjoying from that half are Isco showing his class through and through, the little battle between Jese and Carvajal and not seeing Benzema's dumb face.

Other than that, pretty crappy 1st half but I'm sure they'll be an improvement in the 2nd half.

Also this linesman is a bit of a retard, we scored a legit goal and he calls it off and gets plenty of other offside calls wrong too

Gotta hand it to Benz, atleast he's one of the only ones in team who manages to keep his usual form consistent.

Ramos has made 4 big mistakes in the last 2 games. He is the main reason Madrid have 1 la liga in almost a decade.
