zigra wrote:Why do you think you can still judge players when you don't watch football anymore? Serious question.
Because it wasn't 10 *bleep* years ago ffs.
It's like i'm talking a brick wall, as far as Eriksen's concerned i watched him for 5+ years and he's not going to magically change over a 6 month period and today proved that.
Thiago has always been amazing but injury prone, glad he's beginning to get over that but again same thing.
You guys are acting like i'm coming in from the 90s and just got off watching Ronaldo and Vieri ffs.
Players don't massively change over a year span talent wise, they might get better mentally, physically and maybe get more consistent but they don't magically change.
It's so *bleep* annoying to see such lazy and boring retorts because you literally have nothing worthwhile to respond with.
If i was talking about players who had established themselves over the last year or so then fair enough, but i'm not. I have seen these players since they have been in their teens and a year or so of not watching them isn't going to effect my take on them.
I just won't bother in the future, because obviously me seeing players since they were 18 and younger for 5 plus years doesn't matter because i haven't watched in a year i can't possibly know about them.

When Eriksen performs against the very best in Europe like those two did come back to me instead of being outplayed by Neverkusen and CSKA.
I know people like to rewrite history but the only people on those two's league in their prime as AMs for Madrid and Arsenal respectively was Iniesta and that's a stretch considering he's not really an AM to begin with.
You are not helping yourself and proving why i don't discuss football anymore.

@Barrett, I don't know, thought Pedro was abit weak out there. Got muscled off the ball alot. Moses was the guy who impressed me the most defensively and offensively. He was like an engine out there

Jeez haven't seen you this mad since Harmonica said Morrowind is better than TW3.
Seriously first you laughed about me even mentioning Thiago so obviously I wonder if you've been living under a rock. Now you say you know he's amazing and just been injury prone.

I'm massively triggered about the whole you don't watch for a year so your opinion about watching players for 5 plus years doesn't matter BS tbh.
I laughed at the Thiago stuff because of the Xavi stuff and because i feel you are understating how good Fabregas was at Arsenal and Ozil at Madrid.
No real AMs were in their league at the time, Iniesta gets brought up but he was never really an AM tbh.
Anything else is rewriting history, as for Thiago being the best CM this season it is fine and i'm not in the position to argue it anyway and i could genuinely believe it based on what i know.

Chill man. I didn't know you were that triggered by it. I thought it was a random joke when I read it in chat.
You laughed at it before I mentioned the Xavi stuff tbh and yeah obviously I exaggerated that as Xavi has been a top 3 mf of all time.
I obviously understated Fabregas and Özil when I said Eriksen is clearly better than they ever were, I agree with that. But then again I didn't know you were new to the whole Eriksen is the goat thing going on in this thread. You are still a regular in this forum after all.
I don't think I underrate them when I say Thiago is above what they've ever shown though tbh. You know yourself he's always been an amazing talent and this season he really showed his quality and imo he's ben clearly the best midfielder in the world this season. Not AM, CM but of all midfielders. He's not just great on the ball, creating and scoring but his defensive contribution is probably on par. He has the most interceptions in the top 4 leagues for example.
Özil and Fabregas have been amazing midfielders in their prime (Fabregas more so than Özil btw) and Eriksen hasn't quite reached that level but Thiago? Yes he has.

True. But his pressing was quite good. His problem was he was too much in a hurry and didn't quite keep possession well or make the right decisions when he got the ball. On the free kick he won for Willian's first goal, I thought he should have passed it out to a wide open Moses long before he even got fouled. But thankfully, it worked out in the end and we got a goal out of it. This is definitely my favorite Chelsea game of the season and my 3rd favorite overall after Barca 6-1 PSG and Juve 3-0 Barca.

Marco Silva lads
What a manager. Everyone 100% ruled hull out and they were guaranteed for relegation. 20 points in 14 games now with that hull team while playing great football and scoring 2-3 goals per match.
But they should have hired Nigel Pearson according to Souness (:

rashford got this, better not be another superhuman gk performance tomorrow though
here's a graphics of our shots in the match earlier this season that ended 0-0
I think that's when I started ranting about goalkeepers

Yep, becoming a fan of this Portuguese. If he does well with Hull, goes to a midtable club and also do well, then hope United show the balls to pick him instead of waiting for a 'manager with a CV'.
Could very well be a manager wonderkid Early days tho. So, let's see
