Can't wait for main man Giroud to bench Lacazette like he does for France.

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion
This is actually an interesting shout. Most football hipsters (including myself) rate Lacazette above Giroud. However, there's a well-defined record of Giroud beating him out for a starting/squad place for France.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Can't wait for main man Giroud to bench Lacazette like he does for France.
Honestly, it could be any number of factors:
- bigger league
- different (more-physical / target-man) style
- on-pitch relationship with other stars
- performance in training
- personal bias/preference
Personally, I can't see Wenger paying that amount for a player (even in this market) and then benching him. However, the question should be asked as to why Lacazette remains behind Giroud in the NT pecking order and whether that will carry over to club level.

French NT coaches have a logic of their own I think.
When French NT pecking order is concerned, I guess we have to add a number of unknown factors to the list you complied above, like
- astrological sign
- pureness of monophtong pronunciation
- reputation of the agents' kids' école polytechnique
and other things we cannot even imagine

It's so true. Honestly what I meant by "personal bias/preference".

So what do the Arsenal fans here think about Wenger continuing with the job? Any hopes for improvementleft? Will need to get used to not being in the CL if he doesnt turn things around.

Very curious to see how this will go. I certainly hope it goes well and others follow their example too .
Diving used to be sort of rare(ish) , if not rare at least certainly not that common practice in the 00s , compared to the 10s. In recent years and nowadays , it's become ridiculous , i remember a time it was even funny here or there , now there are players out there who won't think twice to dive even when they can stay up and try .
Was always very lenient with diving but it's become really tiresome with time , sincerely i hope this goes well and everyone follows suit after.

How do they use this law when the player "goes down too easily"? That's a grey zone, You can never say what exactly could have happened.

This is going to be absolutely impossible to enforce.
There are all kinds of questions:
- What's eligible for review? Only incidents the referee misses or incidents that are adjudged to be incorrectly handled...
- How will they handle incidents with minimal contact? Forwards aren't stupid. Most 'diving' incidents involve at least some contact.
I simply don't see how any sort of uniform standard comes out of this.

Look at this foul for example, It's a prime dive after the foul. But the contact made against Origi ensured he couldn't get his shot away, There was no way to get something out of a great situation other than going down.

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion
This rule has been in place in Serie A for a while. It worked. It obviously didn't end diving, but its less present than before. So far they only use it for players that clearly dived to win penalties. Happens a couple times a season and they get banned for a few games retroactively even if the ref didn't see it.
It has definitely been better than nothing.

Sounds like to me that Nishank is worried that Liverpool's band of dirty south american scum can't cheat anymore
If they were all more honest like us british lads then this wouldn't be an issue.
