Re: If Ronaldo is leaving, we need a whole new attacking line
I will never understand the hype for Lewandowski.
Though the stats do reflect elite status. but for me it's just...
He's not faster than Benz. If we're gonna replace Benzema, I would like someone who has good pace and acceleration as the bare minimum. many situations that could have become goalscoring opportunities if we just had someone with good speed to take the chance and run away with it.
in this case, I'd rather just keep Morata lol. also, Lewandowski is 28. he will decline soon just like Benz. And unlike Benzema who had great speed in his younger days, Lewandowski was never fast to begin with. the oldest we should invest in should be 27 and no higher than that. though I would make an exception for Aubameyang for his speed.
You say he chokes a lot nick but he has consistently scored against us and that's good enough for me. for we are the best around.
besides, he has passion for us. We could always use those who desire to bleed for this shirt.

Lewa is elite Turok. No doubt about it. He's lethal in front of goal... and he's very good with helping buildup as he has great technique. I like him a lot. He also has the nasty streak which I think we need.

Re: If Ronaldo is leaving, we need a whole new attacking line
I'm aware he's elite but I tire of opportunities wasted because Benz isn't fast enough and it won't be different with Lewa. You and I both know we need speed upfront. It's why I'm hot for M'bappe so much. Especially since we can't rely on Bale as he is always so often injured.@sportsczy wrote:Lewa is elite Turok. No doubt about it. I do not mind Lewandowski but we need to sign M'bappe and one other fast player (Dembele if possible) before we even consider Lewandowski. You know me sports, I prefer keeping weakspots to a minimum. To be competitive in Europe and in spain, we gotta go fast and be faster than the competition. I would like us to have every edge possible.
Re: If Ronaldo is leaving, we need a whole new attacking line
Mbappe went on his scoring rampage this season at Monaco when Falcao went out and he was leading the line. He gives you that speed. When Falcao returned, they expertly worked off each other and his scoring wasn't as high because he wasn't playing in the box. Falcao is not fast either.
That's why Mbappe is the perfect replacement for Ronaldo. He brings that lethal scoring threat and movement while being on the wing.

Re: If Ronaldo is leaving, we need a whole new attacking line
i'm gonna join the "if Ronaldo leaves, Benzema better be gone too" bandwagon.
what happens with Morata though? United who are pushing hard to sign him would still get him? what if they include De Gea in the deal to sweeten it? Or we sign Donnarumma because he is supposedly a prodigy?
so many questions and ramifications to a single move.

Re: If Ronaldo is leaving, we need a whole new attacking line
Well if we are going to get Mbappe it better be while Ronaldo is still here. He can develop in the shadows of Ronaldo and then hopefully take over once Ronaldo leaves. I don't think Ronaldo will leave this summer, at the bare minimum I think Perez will convince him to stay for another season so It'd be important for a young guy like Mbappe to learn from Ronaldo before shouldering the responsibility of scoring all our goals. As long as the rest of the team ship in like they did this season, Mbappe should find it easier to acclimatise

He is gone, like I said you don't go so aggresive if you're looking for a new contract. He doesn't need to, he is RONALDO, a *bleep* HERO!!!!!!!!! (in a roaring voice to show I love him)
Buuuut Spain is treating him bad. Modric is having issues now too, accused of perjury so this summer is pretty shite.

Interesting editorial by Marca pointing out valid reasons for why Ronaldo is not loved by Madridistas and why he isn't one himself. I agree with it and i actually can see it getting worse for Ronaldo in Spain in terms of what he's crying about.

What do you mean Spain is treating him bad? Why doesn't bale or benzema or Ramos have tax issues? They make a lot of money too. Some pay their taxes, some try to get smart and try to avoid paying by using complicated scheme. Well they get caught too

Re: If Ronaldo is leaving, we need a whole new attacking line
Everyone with any money uses complicated schemes. Those who get caught have bad and/or crooked advisors... no idea why they don't use one of the Big 4 in E&Y, Deloitte, PWC or KPMG. Then you are quasi-certain to not break rules... and if they make a mistake, you can sue them for negligence so they have to pay... not you.
But in a lot of these cases, it appears that the player and his agent intentionally tried to illegally not pay taxes instead of cleverly minimizing their taxes under the laws.
Stupid.

Someone convinces them that the Big 4 would probably do the same thing as the recommended tax expert but charge much more. Or some athletes don't know jack about the Big 4 and will do whatever the person they trust says, e.g. Ronaldo
Bet you Mendes gets a cut from the tax expert without Ronaldo's knowledge.

Re: If Ronaldo is leaving, we need a whole new attacking line
off topic..am I the only one who thinks Real Madrid wants to delay Morata's sale to Man U till after the super cup match against man u?
I always thought that from the day we won the CL and now we can see it manifesting
one day, you hear about how the deal with Morata is 95% complete and then next day, just some vague story.
if that's the strategy, I'm down with Madrid, if that's not it, they need to consider doing that

We need to sell and buy asap. I don't get it why no team is buying and selling.

Re: If Ronaldo is leaving, we need a whole new attacking line
Well what has likely happened, shade, is Man U have probably agreed personal terms with Morata but haven't been able to work out a deal with the club.
I'm not sure it will come down to the super cup or not, I think it's a matter of if Morata is in the plans here AND he can be convinced to stay, not to mention working out a price. All that takes time.
Regarding Ronaldo, I've seen some reports he has cooled down. I hope that's true. Honestly I'm not 100% sure what his angle is. It's an extreme tactic for a new contract. And if he does really want to leave does he realize that the tax fraud follows him, he can't just flee the country and they will forget about it. Also he has to understand he needs us more than we need him- he's 32 and this is his best chance at continued success. I would bet my house that he wouldn't get near CL or Balon dor at united or PSG

So it seems like this was a plot by Mendes (who all of his clients have been found out for tax fraud)
CR is staying. Yay!
