Is that going to be a normal Juve kit that we're seeing against the Spurs?

I did not like the Juve in the first half... We could not pass the ball for God's sake!

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread
De Scilgio has been fine all preseason. He didn't play that terrible first half, it was Licht. He wasn't the problem either, it was just complete lack of willingness to play. Completely pointless game for most of the players.
Only Cuadrado, Dybala (second half) and Bernardeschi can take positives from it.
Just preseason stuff.

@Luca
I feel good about our chances of staying in the CL places. I feel good about the majority of the squad, outside of RB and RW. I think we are a worst enemy to ourselves than Napoli or Juve could ever be. Injuries and ill-timed brainfarts have done far more damage than anything else. As always, we can and should challenge Juve, but only if we stop shooting ourselves in the foot at the worst possible times.
What gives me hope is that I have never seen a Roma team with this much defensive depth. I mean actually legit experienced players in depth to compliment an already excellent midfield and a potentially potent attack.
Maybe things will be different this year, but we as Romanisti have been hoping for that for many years now so grains of salt must be applied.

Very good. I'm curious to see if Dzeko maintains his form this season. Pellegrini is a very exciting player, he played very well in the Euro U-21. I'm surprised EDF didn't bring his son Berardi to the Olimpico.
I think this will be a great season, all the matches between Juventus, Roma, Napoli, Inter and AC Milan should be very hard fought.

De Sciglio.... Defensively looked shaky, but otherwise he was average at best. That is why we need Lichtsteiner to stay. All those asking for him to leave just don't realise how important he is to the squad. He was one of the most underrated right backs in the world the past 6 years IMO.
@Luca, same here I really expected Berardi to join EDF in a heartbeat. Berardi is a cheeky lad, like Balotelli. He has injury and discipline problems too, which makes him quite undesirable by the top clubs. Sass are asking tooo much for him. He might end up just like Jovetic...

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread
So what's your prediction (expectations) for the season?
1. What would be the top 4/6 look like?
2. Which three would get relegated?
3. Which team would be the surprise package (dark-horse)
4. Which team would be disappointment?
Due to my limited (extending to almost zero) knowledge about Italian League, I have no clue about the last three. All I can assume that come May the table may look like:
JJ
Napoli (they have a fairly unchanged squad, right?)
Roma
Milan

1 Juve
2 Napoli
3 Roma
4 Inter
5 Milan
6 Lazio
2. Crotone, Verona, Benevento
3. If Inter counts, Inter. If not, SPAL.
4. Fiorentina. They will crash and burn, it will be beautiful.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread
Yesterday I watched friendly match Inter vs Villareal at San Benedetto del Tronto.
Great stadium (and there is not need to go in China to get sold out !! More matches in Centre-South Italy pls . ) , it's shame their local team plays in Serie C, they deserve Serie A ( not just for the stadium, but also because Sambenedettese have passionate fanbase).
Even if I haven't idea how Villareal could reach 5th place in La Liga last year ( looked like absolutely average, Nicola freakin' Sansone as starter , Soldado and even Bonera ffs ) we played very well . Positive preaseason atm , if Borja Valero (never had doubts on him ,I always loved this player but it's just matter of age ) and Skriniar are those players watched in this summer they can represent 2 underrated signings for us.
I hope to exploit the effect " underestimation" around us this year, everything is on Milan after their roboant mercato, everyone expect the breakthrough from Napoli etc
We had much more pressure last year.

What's your overall feeling towards Spaletti @robes?
I was surprised to see many Interisti not in support of his appointment. For me, he's a top 3 manager in Serie A with Allegri and Sarri.
Inter has a good squad in my opinion, good enough to fight for the top 4.

Perhaps in May (but personally I was always in favor) but 90 % of Inter fans are pro Spalletti now tbh .
I didn't see such general support towards the coach for much time. Even yesterday I was in front of the hotel where the Inter stayed and the chants were exclusively for him.
Atm there is very good feeling , and it can only improve if there will be also results.
It is hard to complain about his signing because he is one of best Serie A coaches and there was best free coach. We were also luckly the he broke with Roma and he chose to leave the 2nd Serie A team for us. Real mamma from heaven on paper.

3. Maybe Torino can reach the Europe spots ? But their way to success will be very fragile, they need everyone at their best level and no injuries. And of course not sell Belotti.
4. If we don't win the league, Juve. As well as Rincon, i don't expect much from Fio this year. Double digits imo.

Atalanta bought the Atleti Azzurro d'Italia for ~11m plus money that will be spent in remodeling the stadium.
Top club in Lombardy last year and now the only club in the region to own their stadium. Milan and Inter
Great news for them. Should help them cement their place in Serie A.
They join Juve, Udinese and Sassuolo as the 4th team to own their stadium.

Fantastic news for La Dea.
Can't even deny how jealous I am of that.
Just reminds me of how byzantine Rome's political system truly is. Some things never change, even after 2000 years.

Because teams sell the naming rights of their stadium's to sponsors for cash. Like shirt sponsors.
Bayern's Allianz Arena
Arsenal's Emirates Stadium
Atletico's Wanda Metropolitano
City's Etihad Stadium
etc.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread
Yes i obviously knew that.
In fact idk why i asked this question, i only wanted to express my disgust about this practice. Allianz Stadium + JJ logo is a very SHITTY rebranding.
However, as we say in french: When you compare, the sadness is no more there.
- Wanda Metropolitano
- Etihad Stadium (Etihad means something like Union...close to United lol)
- Dick's Park in Colorado (MLS)

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread
For me having the "Own stadium" ( or how we call in Italy " stadio di proprietà " ) is just an overrated thing.
Or at least it is so in Italy.
In England it offers you consistent revenues also because there is a different culture, ppl is used to eat at restaurant there , or go shopping in addition to watch the match of course. In Italy it is not same thing. And infact we don't talk about an incredible amount of revenues, Juve got 30-40 mln max, it is what you get to qualify in CL .
It's enough to watch to Udinese that is always shit, or Sassuolo.
It won't change the life to Atalanta.
For AS Roma it's good the new stadium because the Olimpico is old with the annoying running track , and it is same thing for many Italian clubs ( I think how much are bad the Bologna and Fiorentina stadiums .. ) .. Basically for this reason more than revenues. The Old Delle Alpi was a bad stadium for example, because the view was old on many sides..
But for example , I never will leave San Siro for a new own stadium . This stadium is the story of football and it is privilege to play there.

Maybe we'll just keep our new stadium name as Stadio della Roma. We've been extremely picky about shirt sponsors so hope continues that we'd be just as picky with stadium sponsors.
