Re: LFC Season 2017-18
Welcome back Art!
Arsenal next, Decently important game probably for momentum imo but every time we've blown Arsenal away we seem to drop points for a month after playing them.

Yeah, sure, we tried for Van Djik, but it's amateur work in the transfer market to not have any other options ready when that failed. Signing an improvement on Lovren and Klavan should be about as difficult as counting Everton's trophies in the last 20 years. The fact we failed to strengthen our already weak defence is the main reason we've been dropping points. If we fail to get a top-4 spot it's because of this. But as long as we get that top-4 finish, I'll be happy with the season.
We had to splash 35m to get the Ox. Chelsea was also interested. He's also been good for us. I've always rated him as a player, and he's improving as each game goes on. Gives us good depth, and I've been impressed with him recently.
I agree on on not signing a CB (I still don't rate VVD for that much).......... but I also can't SOLELY blame our defence if we don't get top 4. When our midfield is on, we don't lose games.

And what can we blame it on today, losing a 2-0 lead in five minutes to trailing 2-3 x)
Doesn't happen with any sort of half-competitive defence. Today is just another example when we should have taken more points than we got, because our defence fails in various positions. If we don't make the top-4, Klopp should lose his job.

Lads if klopp can’t make one single improvement in our defence after more than 2 years in charge I think it’s fair to say it will never happen. The longer klopp stays is just time wasted. All that will happen is players like coutinho. Mane and salah will leave over the next 3 years and klopp will end up getting the sack anyway. And it will be back to square 1 looking for a manager and no star players in the squad.

Re: LFC Season 2017-18
Tbh I don't think any coach can fix this defence. The players here are the problem. Klopp has somewhat fixed them and we have seen slight improvements but at the end of the day you can't turn lovern and mugs into solid defenders.
Klopps biggest failings are in the transfer market. If he doesn't improve his work in this winter and the next summer one then that's when we can call for his head, as of right now it's still ridiculous to ask for the sack.

Made my feelings clear in the GS. Agree with Art and Unique. This January is make or break ( Like last year when we were actually 1st) If he doesn't get top 4 this season, He has to go.

That's a brain fade from Joe Gomez (ball watching / watching Sanchez) and incompetent keeping bringing them back into it.
We were all over them before that. We could of won 3-1 today and you'd all be crying about how we concede a goal. Klopp's the only Liverpool manager I've seen in charge that's had the balls to go out and actually out play Arsenal at the Emirates. He's the only manager to go out and play out for 3 points.
And it's still not solely on the defence.
The midfield is to blame, and also the lack of leadership is too. Who stood up when we conceded? Lovren was telling off Gomez for his mistake after the first one ffs. DEJAN LOVREN was TELLING OFF GOMEZ. The same mentally weak guy who's made mistakes after mistakes ffs.
"If we don't make the top 4 Klopp should lose his job"
Not sure if serious
And bring who back, Rodgers? Careful for what you wish for.
I told you 2 years Rodgers set this club back. Klopp's done a good job bringing us up.
The squad he's inherited was TERRIBLE. We were a MESS off the pitch. We NEEDED consistency and stability. Klopp brings that. In his first full season he's finished top 4. We're ON COURSE of doing that this season. We're in the round of 16 TOPPING the CL group. We're UNBEATEN in the last THIRTEEN GAMES. Am I delighted that we've drawn so many games? No *bleep* no. But you'd be an idiot to say "We deserve top 4 sack him if he doesn't get it" What makes you so stubborn to believe that we deserve it?
We've finished ONCE in the top 4 since 2008/09. THAT'S TEN YEARS. And that's on a whole lot of factors of new managers coming in / Suarez. I don't understand how people AUTOMATICALLY think they're top 4 worthy.
If you haven't seen the improvements both on and off the pitch I don't know what to tell you.
We're not winning enough games, no. But we're NOT losing. We're becoming harder to beat. There's far too many draws, but I fully believe that'll improve.
Post Suarez...........
In 14/15 we had a goal difference of +4... 52 goals, 48 conceded. We came 6th. We were CELEBRATING AND HIGH FIVING AFTER A DRAW AGAINST LUDOGRETS OR WHATEVER THE *bleep* THEIR NAME IS IN THE CL. We won ONE game, crashing out down to the Europa league.
In 15/16 we had a goal difference of +13... 63 goals, 50 conceded. We came 8th. The season was a ride of before it even started.
In 16/17 (Klopp's first full season / WITH A PRE SEASON) we had a goal difference of +36... 78 goals, 44 conceded. We conceded too many still, but we FINISHED top 4 and showed progress.
This season now, half way through 17/18...... we've already scored 41 goals concede 23 which is still alot and I'm not defending it but we're still on track to improving AGAIN.
The football is actually WATCHABLE. It's entertaining. I genuinely look forward to watching Liverpool play nowadays.
A lot of managers shore up the defence before fixing their attack. Klopp's the opposite. We had no structure going forward, we were as boring as United under LVG FFS. Goals win games. AGAIN, Klopp's made mistakes but to want him out is absurd. His squad is worth less than Arsenal, Chelsea, United and City. And if you take City out of the equation I'd argue we're better than the rest.

Holgate being bitch for 45 minutes helping us. No link between midfield and attack though.

Re: LFC Season 2017-18
FT 2-1 win
The defense was brilliant from to finish. Robertson and Gomez not putting a foot wrong. Van Dijk I think had a 100% aerial win %. Matip was okay lol.
I won't count their goal because firstly Matip was fouled at HL, Gomez and Milner were the only players back defending the counter. It was a great counter though.
Lallana was probably the poorest in the team. He was supposed to link the midfield to attack and nothing worked for him back to his 2015 days, Hope he gets to form asap.
MOTM: Van Dijk scored and was brilliant so he probably nicks it. But i'll give it to Robertson for stopping a player consistently we never could stop in the past 3 years.
We can't afford Coutinho leaving, Today was an example why.

Now that Cou is gone, Lallana is probably the second best creator in midfield and he hasn't played in the past 6 months. We are *bleep*.
