I say Mbappe vs Neymar

Neymar has a obsession towards being the absolute best. All this media talk (remember there is smoke where there is fire) makes me speculate that Neymar isn't happy being the second fiddle. He wants Balon d'Or!

But what if Mbappe manages to win Balon d'Or before Neymar? Hypothetically it's possible if Mbappe moves to Madrid and manages to outscore CR. CR has declined last season and it's possible he will even decline even more.

One things guaranteed, if CR is out of the picture, Balon d'Or will be decided by who wins CL. Mbappes chances are better than Neymar winning it IMO.

It'd be funny if Mbappe wins it. But who do you think will win it first? Neymar vs Mbappe. The second generation of CR vs Messi.

Neymar is the best of his somewhat underwhelming generation. Mbappé is of the following generation, so far the best but things might turn out different in 3 to 5 years.

The Ballon d'Or, i don't care about that but it seems like Neymar just ruled himself out of the race.

Neymar is 25 years young and Brazilian. Wouldn't be a surprise if Messi and CR are going to last longer at the top than him. Mbappe is a whole other story though, as he is only 18 and I've never seen a player so young and on so high demand. He's 14 younger than CR and 12 years younger than Messi. It's between him and Dembele imo

Neymar lol. If they were thesame age, it would have being a no brainer for neymar, lol. I think that is pretty much clear. However, the single most important advantage for mbappe has nothing to do with his abilities personally but the simple fact that he will be emmerging at a time where messi and ronaldo have both past their primes. That in and of itself alone already gives mbappe a luxury and an advantage that neymar never enjoyed and when you couple that with the fact that mbappe is 7 years younger than neymar then i think the answer is easy.

I feel we are going to say Ronaldo/Messi will decline year after year until our throats go dry. We just don't know when they'll finally fall to the same level as the rest of the players. Ronaldo might be 33 yet he is still the far best scorer in the world and every season us Madrid fans think that the following season is when he'll finally fall off the grace but he continues to prove us wrong. Wouldn't be surprised if Neymar was 30 years old when Messi finally declined. He's lucky with Ronaldo's age but not Messi's

Once they are finally out of the picture we can start discussing candidates

Mbappe will also have the CL winner advantage by playing for Madrid imo

Basically if CR declines, and Messi is left alone at the top, both Neymar and Mbappe can challange him! Assuming Neymar makes a move to PSG.

I give CR max 2 years at the top now. I think this season he might even decline more because of depression/issues with tax laws.

Mbappe showed nothing to suggest he will be a ballon d'or winner. If Neymar will win one is another matter entirely.

The answer is neither.

Neither are touching the award until Messi and Ronaldo until their footballing corpses and by that time Neymar will be in his 30s and they'll be a new young hype jobs.

Again rewarding players with praise before a ball is even kick in a RM jersey, sounds just like what happened with isco then every RM fans gonna be forced to lie their asses off, every time certain players have bad games or end up being a bench warmer, what's so wrong with waiting to see how good players are before racing off assuming 10 years into the future?

Mbappe looks like a good young striker but to say he is the best of the next generation already is silly talk and he ain't on neymar level either, neymar is much more proven already this just a silly thread made to suck off mbappe prematurely RM fans .

Mbappe because he wins you games with goals. If Neymar can start improving his output and he carries PSG and Brazil to the cl and WC then he will win it if Ronaldo isn't injured. Messi and Barcelona are finished so Messi won't win another one till Ronaldo retires.

As for future Ballon d'Or winners...I could see Neymar winning one with PSG. I'm in the camp that thinks Mbappe is being overhyped. He's still very young. It wasn't so long ago that Raheem Sterling was lighting up the PL playing for a very offensively oriented team as an 18 year old. Sometimes players peak early. Let's wait and see if he can actually build on his play from last season.

There are a lot of massive talents at Kylian's age still, and lots of big talents that are a bit younger. Federico Valverde, Jadon Sancho, Vinicius Jr., Justin Kluivert, Cheick Toure, etc. etc. We're living in an age where there is such an influx of money, training and talent in soccer that I doubt we'll ever see the same kind of dominance displayed by Messi and Ronaldo ever again. Too many elite players makes it even harder to stand out as they have.

Though again, Neymar is the next best thing and he may be on the same level as they are already. Internationally he's certainly more effective than either. Wouldn't be surprised if as the star and focal point at PSG that he eclipses them both this year.
