Nightcrawler (2014)
How did Jake Gyllenhaal not win an oscar for this lol? There are some characters in movies that seem way too real. When it goes beyond just acting and you don't even realise they are just characters. I can see why this film was rated so highly and why Gyllenhaal was praised so much.
Amazing film.

2013 was an incredible year ffs. Think there’s like 7 films that year that would’ve been my number 1 every year since

Just came back from watching Infinity Wars. Enjoyed it thoroughly even without knowing the whole context as i've barely watched any DC/Marvel movies. The movie is beautifully setup for the sequel.
Now i understand what @Kaladin's sig is all about. @Unique as Thanos I think he would take it as a compliment tbh

Re: The Movie House - Part 10
Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford 7.9/10 -- enjoyable film. It was good but not great imo for 3/4 of the film (besides an amazing first 15 mins). Enjoyable, but nothing special. Like a 7/10. Last 1/4 of it was really fantastic though, and bumped it up in my mind.
Overall a really enjoyable film.
RDR2 has gotten me in the mood for westerns, what's next? I would like to watch the other two in the Dollars trilogy, and I still haven't seen Unforgiven. 3:10 to Yuma is on the list as well. Anyone have recommendations beyond these? Is Slow West any good?

Re: The Movie House - Part 10
As far as westerns go, I gave Brimstone a watch. Stars Guy Pearce, Dakota Fanning, Kit Harington and Carice van Houten.
Pearce, as always in roles like this, was really good. Dakota Fanning also did well. I knew going into this I wouldn't like Harington in this role and I was right. Van Houten's scenes were good as well.
7/10

Re: The Movie House - Part 10
Also gave a couple of minor horror franchises a binge.
The Wishmaster series - Andrew Divoff is an amazingly villainous actor that I've genuinely taken a liking to in just about everything I've seen him in, even his small roles in stuff like Air Force One. Truly loved him the first 2 movies of this series. He looked like he was having a fantastic time making these films. The latter 2 are thoroughly not worth watching though the last one does have an actor that at least looks evil like Divoff does.
The Species series - First 2 movies reminded me just how stunning Natasha Henstridge was (and still is honestly). The whole cast from the first movie were pretty good, especially Michael Madsen and Forest Whitaker. I actually liked the story of the 2nd movie better, though it overall wasn't as good. The last 2 were patently unwatchable, especially the last one. That one got so weird, it didn't feel like a sci-fi creature feature, but like d-level bestiality porn.
Next up, probably the Mimic series. The first movie is probably one of the scariest I've seen, to the point where I've only watched it a handful of times throughout my life. Always with the lights on.

Re: The Movie House - Part 10
Do you know Hirokazu Koreeda freeza?
Saw he won an award at cannes and looked up his films. They seem to be critically acclaimed. Specially 'Like Father, Like Son' 'After the storm' and his latest one 'shoplifters' (releasing in june)
Going to watch all of those in the next few months if i can find them legally and in good quality.

I've seen After the Storm.
It was a lovely good story that was well told, if nothing else.

Watched Utøya: 22. Juli today. I still don't quite know how to feel. One of the most harrowing things I've ever seen, and that is without ever really laying eyes on the terrorist.
There entire film is almost a one-shot in real time to simulate the 72 minutes it took for the children to get help. Absolutely ridiculous that the authorities took that long.

Re: The Movie House - Part 10
John Wick 3 is set to release in May 2019. Think around the same time as Avengers 4. Not sure what the thinking behind that is but at least we will get 2 great films in the same month.

Luc Besson being accused of rape. Not surprising considering he dated a 12 year old and impregnated her at 15.

Exact reason why I was majorly put off by Leon the Professional. Don't get that movie's hype.
Probably his pedo sexual fantasies translating through onto the page.

He’s a known perv. Remember I got downvotes on reddit for saying he was morally bankrupt and would be the next to fall.
Apparently people on there don’t think it’s morally wrong to court a 12 year old
