229th Merseyside Derby
Liverpool host a resurgent Everton for the 229th Merseyside Derby.
Congested box, check
Midfield brawls, check
Long balls and lots, check
Henderson should return to midfield, Milner/Robertson as LWB. Anything else is up in the air.

Re: 229th Merseyside Derby
Klopp pretty much confirmed that Henderson will play.
0-0 incoming
“You can’t just block two players off - it’s more than that, it’s four or five. That’s the hard bit. The runs they make, their finishing ability has increased, they don’t have to rely on one goalscorer."- Sam Allardyce

Re: 229th Merseyside Derby
Put Sturridge in the box and let the wing-backs keep swinging in crosses. Proper English brawl.

That midfield aye, man this lineup. So underwhelming. Everton sitting back doing nothing and we can't even create a chance.

Gosh Salah making us relive the Suarez days. Mane threw away a goal just there, FML.
Mane seems to be trying to be on the end of stuff too much as if he feels he has to score to stay relevant.

Re: 229th Merseyside Derby
Absolutely pathetic this.
What a *bleep* stupid *bleep* penalty.
Don't even get me started on the absolute joke of team selections and substitutions.
After chelsea and arsenal dropping points were ganna do this lol.

How the *bleep* is our best player on the bench , and how the *bleep* was our second best player benched for most of the game.

So *bleep* pissed off right now, what a *bleep* joke, what the *bleep* was Klopp thinking, showing time and time again his incompetence with team selection.
If he didn't have Salah , where would he really be, reminds me more of the Suarez and Brendan situation.
*bleep* manes selfishness cost us alot.
This better be lovrens last season with us honestly.

Re: 229th Merseyside Derby
There were three mistakes:
#1. Starting Solanke
#2. Not subbing Solakne on the hour mark
#3. Subbing Solanke with Ings, WTF

Re: 229th Merseyside Derby
There was nothing wrong with the team selection or substitutions. Rotation is NEEDED. We've missed a manager doing this since Rafa was sacked.
I still don't understand how Klopp's at fault here? We had 80% possession, and missed 2 clear cut chances to kill off the game with some other great chances.
Hate to say it but Mane is responsible for this defeat. 2-0 up at half time and that would of killed the game.
Joe Gomez was MOTM for me, what a player he's going to be. The Ox also looked good.
Henderson is a shadow of his former self. Milner is outperforming in central midfield. He (Henderson) is simply trying WAY too hard to be like Gerrard in midfield and it's really frustrating to watch.
The penalty was bullshit but Lovren shouldn't even be giving the referee an option there. Still don't understand why he didn't try and go for the header in the air, but whatever.
I want to see if the FA decide to give that guy a ban.

No, No and NO.Red Alert wrote:There was nothing wrong with the team selection or substitutions. Rotation is NEEDED. We've missed a manager doing this since Rafa was sacked.
Rotation is needed and none is arguing against that.
Solanke hardly made any impression (he has been as good as Grujić so far) to start in such a pivotal game (don't forget, we are still playing catch-up for top four places.).
Having starting him, it would have been obvious that he isn't making the necessary impact and should have been subbed at the earliest (during the break, if you ask me).
Finally, sending in Ings??? Seriously??? The guy hasn't played competitive games in 18 months and you send him in to make a break through??? It's a folly/gamble and not a plan.
Anyway, what's done is done and I really hope Klopp learns from his mistakes and doesn't keep undoing the good work he himself is doing.
