Real Madrid's CWC Campaign Al-jaz10
Sheikh Zayed Sports City

Real Madrid will begin their CWC title defense against Jazira Club soon, and even though the title doesn't mean much, it wouldn't hurt to go home with another trophy. The most important thing is to avoid injuries and rotate the squad as much as humanly possible.

Latest News:
1. Kroos, Ramos and Carvajal left out of Real Madrid starting line-up, while Gareth Bale is on the bench and could get some playing time.

2. As things stand, the treatment room has been cleared and Z has his entire roster available.

Official Lineup:
Keylor Navas; Achraf, Nacho, Varane, Marcelo; Casemiro, Modric, Kovacic, Isco; Benzema and Cristiano.

Well, it's a Madrid match so I'm definitely gonna watch it. Really not too fond of the CWC but if it were club down here competing, this would have been the biggest trophy ever.

Even though this is a pretty garbage competition, I quite like it, not fully sure why. I think it's the intercontinental aspect.

I'm glad this is at midday rather than 5 am in the morning. Also why is every CWC in Asia? They can at least rotate hosts in each continent

Two actually good goals disallowed, countless wasted opportunities and of course, got sucker punched due to a serious lack of communication between Casemiro and Hakimi. Yup, standard Madrid performance this season. Let's see how we do in the 2nd half.

Like 3 legit goals disallowed. VAR is the worst thing to happen to Football. Took the ref 5 minutes and still made the wrong call. God this Aljazeera team is awful, Segunda B level honestly. God, please give us a striker because the current one we've got has got to be the tamest I have ever seen

We were pretty wasteful though Hala. All those shots and only about 5 or 6 actually hit the target. They are a bit awful but they have the lead which says a lot about our football currently.

I thought we did decently with our chances tbh, their keeper has made some amazing saves, plus 2 goals called back that should have stood. This match should be very different at the moment.

And we are down by 2. LMAO. Zidane might get dragged before the match is over.

To be fair he was offside, but I am not expecting any referring decisions to go our way.

Honestly though

As Much As Hakimi tries I just don't think he's cutting it

I'd just say whatever and spend on Odriozola or whatever RB prospect out there.

Was about to comment on the game but then I got distracted by Doc's sig. How come the artist made sure to make the blood marks visible on the drained Samurai's hair but completely ignored the snowflakes?

It's honestly a question that is worth more than our attack.

Also on behalf of Lucas I accept your apologies @Freeza@Nick. What's this 5th game in a row Lucas has been great. Knew my boy would turn it around Proud

Hakimi had abit of a mare but I'd rather he learns in this useless competition than in CL/League. Hopefully he has learnt not to commit himself like he kept doing when theres noone behind him. Also his crosses are an eye sore but so are Marcelos' so meh

Hope we rotate in the final too. Modric, Varane, Marcelo and Casemiro should be rested. No need to burn them out before Clasico

One of the best anime OVA's ever made but yes, it was a legit oversight in the drawing. It happens.

As for the match, it's officially official (despite it being official for like 3 seasons now): Benzema is the weakest link on the team. Not Isco, not Modric/Kroos, not Casemiro, not even Ramos or Marcelo but Benzema. That match should have been so done and dusted but for reasons that baffle everyone and anyone, Benzema miss 3 clear cut chances. Usually, a forward would at least score at least 1 from those but he manage to miss all 3.

We really need a new striker. Urgently.

Also, Hakimi cannot cross. At all. Just not in his arsenal and I doubt it'll get any better.

Yes, again Benzema was so hopeless. How is it that he can be so sh*t and Zidane still defends him and plays him. Honestly Mayoral cannot do worse.

So, I'm surprised and not surprised at the same time no one picked this up. I certainly didn't and I reckon neither did Nick as he would have gladly mentioned it.

From Soccernet (ESPNFC but I still call it soccernet)

No wonder it looked so weird. Like weirder than usual. 2-5-3, in this day and age?!

I think Benzema is coming around... the less he scores, the closer he gets to his idea of a modern striker.
