our defense is bad on paper but the only team I look at and think have a competent backline is Spurs and its not like they have great fullbacks either, we're suffering without Bailly unfortunately, eagerly await his return

Mourinho is the most overrated coach in the universe's history. Anyone who puts Pogba behind 4 attacking players and alongside 1 DM after being his coach for 2 seasons has a serious lack of football understanding. Just because Pogba is big and black doesn't mean he is Makelele. He is an offensive player as mach as Iniesta is.

Pep, for all his flaws, identifies player's traits and suitable positions before they even get on the pitch once. I was really impressed when Fabregas came to Barca and everyone was like "Xavi's successor" but Pep never played him in central midfield even once as every other coach would have done. He also recently said Alexis' best position is in the center of the pitch which is 100 % true.

United have De Gea. He doesn't need defenders. One man team.

I'm pinning it on him because he's giving his players zero freedom.

Nobody is going to convince me that Sterling and Sane are leagues above Martial and Rashford, difference is their manager gives them freedom to express themselves and the other is shackling their ankles.

I'm pretty damn confident if they swapped clubs Sterling and Sane would get worse and Rashford and Martial would get better.

It's a similar story with Mata and Mkhitaryan (even though I don't rate him that much) it's hard for them to perform because Mourinho completely shackles them.

Lukaku is another one who is receiving criticism but what the hell is supposed to do when he's feeding off literal scraps?

Look at what they did early on when Mourinho let the shackles off before Pogba got injured, they were absolutely smashing teams and yes it was mostly scrubs but it's not like they haven't struggled against similar teams since.

Mourinho is a manager who manages constantly with fear and it spreads through the team, it's not like their team defends amazingly well due to him shackling the entire midfield and attack.

Don't quite get the Klopp comparison either, none of what I have said here applies to him he just lacks midfield talent and forward depth as well as his defenders suck.

Now Sanchez is here and it won't be long before he underperforms and people start blaming him instead of Mourinho shackling him, then the same people will state he lacks talent and can't compete.

It's all nonsense, he can fool some of you but he's not fooling me.

That team is way better than he's making it look, you all will see this when they magically improve without him when he leaves.

Only way this doesn't happen is if they get a Moyes level replacement.

Lol

Im not making excuses for Mourinho, when have i been known as a Mou apologist?

Im just saying that he is doing the best with what he has. Klopp is the same, and i've said the same thing about him. Both teams have terrible defenses. Just because he plays an unaesthetic brand of football you people are pinning him.

I just don't see another manager that they can realistically get, doing BETTER than him with the current roster. Thats just my opinion.
what do you mean klopp does well with what he has. Klopp has to made do with what he has because he signed them.

Kaladin wrote:Pogba should've chosen Madrid/PSG, at east there he could've racked up league titles, i honestly don't see United winning anything in the foreseeable future (1-3 yrs). Actually, United is one De Gea bid away from being ruined lol.

That Spurs game was surreal, like it was eye opening for me, before i was just bantering that United was shit. But i am actually serious now, this ACTUALLY is a terrible United team, not just the defence but the disjointed attack as well. My prediction that Sanchez will flop and flail is coming true. Maybe their midfield is serviceable at best, but the assembly of the team is terribad.

And i actually wouldn't pin it on Mourinho, i think that he's doing the best with what he has, whether he got the players he wanted is up for debate, but i don't think this United team will improve immediately post-Mourinho.

You didnt watch the United- Liverpool match at Anfield.  That game was the most uninspiring I have watched United play since the dark days of Moyes probably. Not a single player displayed even the faintest bit of desire and ambition. Here, in patches initially, we were playing well. And then comedy Jones decided to put the ball into his own net and the collective head of the team dropped.

And like Mole said, when we played attacking football this season, we did look like a proper team. (Leicester game at King Power where we drew 2-2 was easily the best football I have seen us play for a long time. Feel free to check the highlights) Sad thing for us fans is, Mourinho is a scared little man he gets his players on to the pitch in shackles.

It's not Pogba's fault that Mourinho still doesnt know how and where to play him, even if he was dreadful vs Spurs.

Pogba needs to be played in a role like Alli's at Spurs, as a second forward almost, as close to goal as possible.

Mou doesnt know what he wants, keeps changing the team, keeps moving players around etc...

Mourinho is better when he is managing lesser talented players and can move them around as he pleases and they will stick to his gameplan like robots. the more talented his players, less he will get out of them

He's messed with a lot of the lineup from the Spurs game after criticizing the teams attitude, which I fully agree with it was a disgraceful performance with 10% effort, he wouldn't be doing that if it weren't against Huddersfield or someone meh. Agree he's been using Pogba wrong though.

That was a scary hit. Glad there's no concussion. Huddersfield probably shouldn't be complaining anymore about calls they're not getting after that.

that’s true. Paul jogba the greatest midfielder that ever lived is useless if you move him 2 yards away from his best position
