Nah man, dont want Arsene sacked. He doesn't deserve that ending.
Just need to go out respectfully and end the season and then start again

Disagree, he deserves to be sacked immediately. He had two chances to go out respectfully and he refused. Hopefully Josh will deliver!

Re: BREXIT Premier League 17-18 Discussion Part 8
Been said before, but if this happened to any other coach in Arsene's shoes, they'd be out of a job. He has a reputation, I get it. He has prestige, I get that too. His Arsenal were known for their stylish play over results. Yet they are without both. There comes a point when even prestige and reputation have to be put to one side in favor of cold hard facts. Honestly, I think Arsenal hit that point years ago. Arsenal are going nowhere and Arsene's at the wheel. No one is bigger than the club and if he's too stubborn to step aside, it needs to get done forcibly. It's clear this team just won't get better at this point.

Re: BREXIT Premier League 17-18 Discussion Part 8
This couldn't even happen to another coach because every other coach would have been sacked a very, very long time ago.
However at this point I don't even see a point in sacking him during the season as the season is lost anyway. Once it's over he obviously should have to go. Then Arsenal can sign Sir Frank de Boer and let him rebuild the team but I fully expect to see Wenger still in charge in a years time.

Yeah agreed with Zigra. What's the point now?
Just makes Arsenal look bad. It's fine if Arsenal decides they need to force him out in the summer. Honestly, that's the right thing to do for the club.
Sacking your legendary manager before the end of the season though? When there is nothing to gain from it?
Ride it out till the end of the season, then force him out.

He's not wrong though. Had Wenger left a while ago, Arsenal wouldn't have been in this bad of a position now. The team looks like it needs a massive overhaul, not just the manager, but literally every position on the pitch. Even their 100m forwards have not shown up yet.

Re: BREXIT Premier League 17-18 Discussion Part 8
See I think they have enough talent in that squad, outside of a few outliers (Welbeck, Xhaka, etc). The pieces are largely there. They just lack someone who can bring them together cohesively. Wenger isn't that man and he's proven it time and time again. Maybe 20 years ago, but not now.
The board are paralyzed by him. That's even more damaging than the results suffered.

Yeah I don't think the team is terrible. Obviously these players can't challenge for the title but bring in a a new manager right at the end of the season, give him proper money to invest and you could have a very good team for the 19/20 season.

what? the man is one of the greatest players of this generation, would be great if he plays for Sweden again. They could certainly use him.

The team is fine, on the whole. The main problem is coaching. Wenger needs to leave. A coach like Allegri, or Jardim, could do wonders with that squad.

Re: BREXIT Premier League 17-18 Discussion Part 8
I've been critical of Wenger as much as anyone over the last 3-4 years but I wouldn't agree the team is "fine"
The midfield is horrifically imbalanced (obviously this is heightened by Wenger though) and their CBs are meh.
With that said it's still better than what they are showing and a better coach would hide these weaknesses better.
Liverpool have shit tonne of weaknesses but Klopp hides most of them pretty well, something Wenger used to be able to do but no longer can sadly.

Re: BREXIT Premier League 17-18 Discussion Part 8
He does, give Wenger that team and it would look a whole lot worse.
The midfield lacks creativity, intelligence, defensive nous and in general is just full of similar players with similar strengths and weaknesses.
There's a whole bunch of issues with that team people ignore (outside of defending) which Klopp manages to negate enough to be successful.
Something Wenger used to do very well in the Senderos, Denilson etc etc era but no longer can.

I wonder if I can find a stream for Southampton v Stoke. A proper relegation scrap. Lambert's gonna save the day.

Southampton's Redmond and Tadic look like they've had a competition who can regress the most.

Son switches between being shit/invisible and being amazing. One of the most inconsistent players I've seen in recent years.
I don't agree the Arsenal team is "fine" in the sense that it's as good as probably the other top 5 teams, but it's not as bad as Wenger makes it seem with Arsenal's performances. Arsenal's team is good enough to be competitive in the top 4 race.
