You were diving and simulating some time before now but whatever.

Also, Marcelo and Ramos would be our divers so to speak. Marcelo tries but he just looks stupid (as Sports said). Ramos has perfected the art of the simulation, it's almost admirable.

Marcelo probably tumbles more than he dives. It's almost like a dribble move for him now.

Well, it would be comparable if England was compared to other nations who invented a sport.

England sucking year after year would be like USA being terrible at Basketball, Denmark being awful at Handball hmm

Not sure how that addresses that British players dive (they do) but yes, there is a lot of butthurt towards England reaching this far. Way too much imo.

Just checked, Handball did (sorta) originate in Denmark. Neat.

They're incredible for such a small nation.

4 million people

7 NBA players (Also have the GOAT basketball player in Europe).
Great handball
World Cup final now.

Making a big case for best sporting nation per capita.

All former Yugoslavia nations seems to be on the rise. Would atleast put up an incredible basketball team.

Just noticed they managed top 20 finishes in the Olympics also. Decent.

Well our biggest divers in recent years have been Sturridge, Suarez, Sterling and Ngog.

I don't think we have enough proof to say British players dive a lot especially with what goes in El classico every year.

Let’s separate el clasico from this conversation. Fair game to talk about Barcelona. The entire team and I suspect several board members are all divers. But to include Madrid in this conversation, I repeat we just got rid of our only diver!

Did Sterling look for the ref because from that replay, he looks like he laughs at himself for kicking the ground and not the ball. Anyway, GG ref, well played.

That ref should probably be relegated down from CL work, but it would not have changed the result if the penalty had not been given.

You should be complaining about the ref not Sterling.

He tripped over his own feet and fell over, it happens and anyone who has played football at any level should know this and likely had it happen to them.

The ref is a moron and should be reprimanded by the governing body tbh, but Sterling did nothing wrong.

The point is he could've told the referee. He laughed at the decision so he knew he wasn't fouled without knowing.

But he's a cheat and has always been a cheat.

Even he did the referee wouldn't have overturned his decision.

Still it would show some sportsmanship from Sterling.

Why am I talking utter crap? Sterling is a cheat and he has proven that many times and has done it again.

I'm sorry but if Sterling goes to the ref to tell him he tripped and it's not a penalty, the ref takes it back.
It has happened before, and I have no fucking clue why you argue it's wouldn't happened, less clue why you choose to insult urban about it.

If Sterling was a fair player, that's what he would have done. That's what a player should do in this instance, and everyone arguing otherwise, or being cynical about it, is doing the sport, both football and the idea of sport itself, a monumental disservice.

So it's actually you talking the 'utter crap'.

hans is right. There have been many cases where the referee took back the penalty after he was told by the player himself that it wasn't legit. I don't remember them all but off the top of my head:

1. Aaron Hunt with Werder Bremen.
2. Miroslav Klose (x2): once with Bremen in 2005 and another one with Lazio in 2012.

Sterling could've easily made the referee take back the undeserved penalty. Instead he chose silence and that was an incredibly dishonest thing to do.

Am sorry but the way I see it Sterling was just handed over advantage for his team by some stupid officials and he decided to grab it, nothing wrong in it imo. Why would he do otherwise it's not his job to maintain fairplay on pitch.

Players have done this before and ref almost always ignore their pleas.

As usual you're being overly emotional and ignoring the reality of things.

Which shouldn't be surprising as you all hate City and their players and almost always think with your hearts instead of your brains when it comes to them.

I said he's talking utter crap with regards to him cheating, he tripped over his own feet and fell over. He at no stage was looking for a penalty or asked for one, the ref just stupidly gave him one.

Even if he told the ref what happened, nothing would have changed. You're just grasping at straws at this point as a reason to criticise Sterling for something which isn't his fault.
