They need 15-20 chances to convert 1 to a goal Laughing Just a shame.

Good fun game overall. Sevilla dominated the first half and should have finished the chances they created. Could easily scored 2-3 goals if they were a bit more clinical. Rafinha and James gave Bayern more control of the ball in the second half - played in a lower gear.

Sevilla unlucky with the chances not finished, Bayern lucky with 2 deflected goals. La Liga can be proud. Still #1.

So unlucky with the 2 goals conceded Sevilla... Bayern were always the favourites but Sevilla really surprising a lot ppl still, not many thought they would give Bayern so much trouble.

The second goal wasn't bad luck. Thiago was completely free at the back post and only the fact he didn't make great contact with the header prevented that from being a cleaner goal. Either way, it came when Bayern were completely on top.

Sevilla's heads dropped after they let in the first goal. Just felt like they weren't playing with as much confidence in the second half as they did in the first. Banega was a huge miss because they couldn't get out of their half until the final 15 mins and they needed someone to get on the ball. Ben Yedder was dropping as deep as his own penalty area to help out.

Also thought Montella waited too long to make changes.

Fun while it lasted, but Bayern pretty much though now as expected.

A game of two halves, and both halves have a name.

The name of the first half is Bernat. :brickwall:

The name of the second Rafinha. Molenation

Actually, I was wondering why Sevilla sat back so much in the second half and let us take over so clearly.
Then of course I realized that it's impossible to maintain that neckbreak speed, passing, pressing and aggression they did from minute 15 to minute 35 over 90 minutes. That was something else.
But then, the very second they tried to turn on the pressing machine again, after a good hour or so, they immediately conceded the Martinez chance, and the Thiago goal followed.

I also now understand why Ben Yedder is not starting. Hugs the ball, bad timing, ruins Sevilla's attacks.
You say Montella waited too long, I'd rather say Ben Yedder at half time was far too early.
As opposed to the Bernat-to-Rafinha change which couldn't have come quick enough.

Bernat has now unmistakenly shown that when push comes to shove, he's not up to playing at the level we require. Time to let him leave and look for an Alaba backup with potential.

Ben Yedder is a penalty box player and in a tight game of few clear cut chances he's not going to contribute much. Muriel is nowhere near as good in the penalty area as he is but his pace, direct running at the opposition and work rate make him a better outlet. Tbf, I see why Ben Yedder started after what he did at Old Trafford. I didn't think he was that much of an issue bar one or two occasions he could have played in a teammate earlier.

And yeah, Sevilla are an emotional team. At home when the crowd is loud all the time they're going to be aggressive and proactive in everything but it's not sustainable for 90 minutes. Bare in mind as well that they did the exact same thing against Barca last weekend. Bayern weren't at their best but you could tell that they're an experienced team who know how to pace themselves so they finish games strongly.

Dzeko is a legit CF who has consistently performed on a decent level

He's not a type that would rip through Barca though, let's not act like he's Ibrahimovic lmao, he ain't that good

It's just that Barca was so poor that we made Roma look like Heynckes' 2013 Bayern.

Dzeko is a quality striker. Consistently produced great numbers for Roma. Not sure what you're talking about.

Muriel is a bona fide Serie A flop who is riding his luck in starting for Sevilla. Nowhere near that level.

Don't think Sevilla will finish this with 11 men the way they're going about it
