Tuchel is a great coach, no one is doubting that, but him butting heads with Neymar and the other big personalities is bound to happen. I would not be surprised at all if this was just a one season thing before an EPL job.

Re: Thomas Tüchel's adventures in Paris
I don't know how much more 'awesome' and 'exciting' PSG can get when they scored like 150 goals under Emery
Ultimately, he's going to be judged on how he fares in the Champions league particularly against the big guns with domestic titles being a given for the club

Re: Thomas Tüchel's adventures in Paris
PSG look a million times more organized... in a sense that there were counter measures to option A, which neither Blanc nor Emery had. Monaco disrupted them early but, within 10 minutes, an adjustment was made.
Monaco was pressuring PSG very high... you had both the midfield and strikers adjust to it by getting closer to the defense. In the past, when you broke the passing options between the defense and midfield, it was over for PSG.
That said, this was a level higher than a friendly but not much more. A lot of players missing.

Monaco have not been a problem for PSG in like 2 years.
No Ligue 1 club can compete with PSG.
As every year, they will be judged in CL. trying to get a sense of their form by watching them vs domestic competition is a glorious waste of every body's time.

1 year... Monaco were Ligue 1 champs the year before last. They killed them in one game last year... but barely won the other one 2-1. OM got a draw and Lyon beat them.
PSG's advantage is in depth. The other teams need to have all their top players healthy to compete. That doesn't happen in a season. So in league play, they can't keep up.

You would think after spectacularly being proved wrong about Klopp you would stop with this "concede goals for fun" crap.

well klopp has been at liverpool for 3 years and as of right now our defence is still by far the weak spot in our team. all that could change with the new signings but we will have to wait and see first. anyway tuchel record.urbaNRoots wrote:Unique wrote:why do people call him a great coach. hes never won anything and every team hes managed has give up goals for fun.

So do you think Klopp is not a top coach or what? Or are only top coaches those concede few goals?

Re: Thomas Tüchel's adventures in Paris
klopp is a great coach but defending is most definitely his weak spot. That is why at Liverpool he has been very close to 3 trophies but ended up with none. We always give away bad goals at the worst times. But a good keeper and a good DM that we signed could go a long way to fixing that if they don’t flop that is.urbaNRoots wrote:Unique wrote:well klopp has been at liverpool for 3 years and as of right now our defence is still by far the weak spot in our team. all that could change with the new signings but we will have to wait and see first. anyway tuchel record.urbaNRoots wrote:

So you see how Klopp can be considered a great coach despite his defensive woes, the same is valid for Tuchel. The defensive numbers are irrelevant when you can see how these coaches elevate teams overall.

Re: Thomas Tüchel's adventures in Paris
but if you want to win titles and cups on a regular basis you have to have a top notch defence. unless you play in a shit lge like the french lge.urbaNRoots wrote:Unique wrote:klopp is a great coach but defending is most definitely his weak spot. Never wanted someone fail so badly as I want this fraud to fail and gets his ass handed over to him.
Not even Fraudiola failing to win CL with Bayern gave me the horn as much as this will.

Masterstroke to take off Cavani and give more space for Neymar in the second half. The man‘s a genius.

Bundesliga for Hans is what anything French is for Sportsczy. He'll praise absolutely anything coming out of it.

TBH right now there's probably nobody angrier about PSGs performance than Tuchel. The man's a control freak, and the players were just headless chickens. This wasn't because of him, this was despite of him.

What can he do about it, though? PSG are not going to sell Neymar, Mbabbe or Cavani for performances like Tuesday's and they know it. Tuchel will be fired before PSG's star players will be benched or sold and that puts him in a difficult position.

Re: Thomas Tüchel's adventures in Paris
It's September. After a WC. Tuchel is bringing a brand new system that is very dissimilar to what Emery was running. Even if PSG won 5-0, it wouldn't mean a damn thing. February is what matters.
