Re: Thomas Tüchel's adventures in Paris
It's September. After a WC. Tuchel is bringing a brand new system that is very dissimilar to what Emery was running. Even if PSG won 5-0, it wouldn't mean a damn thing. February is what matters.

Re: Thomas Tüchel's adventures in Paris
It's still shocking that they're starting the season with Marquinhos as a CDM, a year after the Lo Celso experiment in the same position. They've spent hundreds of millions signing stars in various positions but completely neglected the one area that would have cost them the least. They had plenty of potential solutions available to them just in France alone; Ndombele after his epic season with Amiens, Guendouzi as a risk-free bet, Kante after his brilliant season with Caen, the underrated Nzonzi who actually worked with Emery.
This is the main difference between this PSG and the Lyon of the 2000's. We didn't have the resources to buy stars of Neymar's caliber but we never let great players in our own backyard slip under our nose. We had the French market by the balls and had first dibs on every promising player. This PSG's would've surely missed out on the likes of Abidal, Malouda, Essien etc..

It's not hard to predict who'll be there soon.

Re: Thomas Tüchel's adventures in Paris
Interesting you say that because Tuchel recently had a quote about Marquinhos, saying how important it is to have a player of the type of Casemiro playing DM for the team. Because he sacrifices himself for the team etc...
To me that was a sign he understood players like Weigl can't protect your defensive line. I thought he had learnt and he would actually have a shot at winning big trophies now.
Weigl will do nothing for PSG's ability to defend in transition defense. If anything they will be worse off than they are now. I doubt they sign him in the future but I guess we will see whether he has learnt or not

PLaying Neymar at n10 is a very interesting choice.

He's a beast at 10. Better than when he's a striker because he's a naturally gifted playmaker... and scores anyhow because he finishes at goal with his movement.

Uff.PSG have scored 3+ goals in each of their first seven games in Ligue 1 this season, a first in Ligue 1 history.

That stat is wrong Urbie.... they've scored 3+ in their first 9 games, not 7 games. That's the record.

Re: Thomas Tüchel's adventures in Paris
If PSG crash out of the group, expect Tuchel to be summarily dismissed and Zidane take his place.... highly, highly likely this if Zidane wants it early.
If PSG don't make CL semis at least, Zidane will take over in the summer.

Welcome to Bayern.
Will need for Hoeneß to "defend Kovac until blood runs" first, hope he dies from bleeding out, so this club can finally move on again.

Zidane is a Marseille guy through and through. I know he's a professional, but him taking over at PSG is like Guardiola taking over at Madrid. Highly unlikely due to political reasons.

Did any of you watch the match or is it the same GL premature ejaculation as always?

That's been smoothed over with OM fans... he wasn't a youth product there (they passed him over lol; ended up at Cannes), he never played for OM and has no professional association.
So PSG would be complicated for his family, who are crazy OM fans... but otherwise no.
Best job for him really. Gets to manage superstars and show them how to win (sound familiar?).

Re: Thomas Tüchel's adventures in Paris
PSG look completely disorganized btw. I feel it's all about Neymar and Mbappe trying to create magic and that's the gameplan lol. Cavani is basically floating. Di Maria is a headless chicken so headless chicken football fits him fine.
But I see no real defensive and midfield structure. Maybe the players aren't executing... but it just looks chaotic.

Re: Thomas Tüchel's adventures in Paris
maybe dont play a team where Rabiot and Verratti are double pivot, what a garbage idea. both do not know what it mean to work hard in midfield and to sacrifice for your team.
PSG need hard working mid, no need to play with 4 attackers when you have Neymar and Mbappe + Cavani upfront. Either set a 3 man defense or bring more hard working mids
