Bargain has two meanings Tito. There is the transfer price that you are hoping Flo will literally give him away. The other is the salary that Benz will accept. As Nick has pointed out, Benz’s current salary is amongst the highest, probably top 5, of epl players. Who in their right mind would pay that for an unperforming fraud even if the transfer price was a gift?

And look at it from Benz’s perspective. He has a coach that likes him, possibly teammates as well. He gets this ridiculous salary for doing nothing. Why would he want to leave or go somewhere were he would have to accept a huge drop in salary.

Sports in living in la la land with his statements of interest in Benz.

The reality that so far only you and Sports are refusing to accept is that Bale will go, but Benz will stay (hopefully as backup to Lewandowsky).

So Chelsea are unhappy with Morata because he can't consistently score but they will sign Benzema who scored 10 in la liga last year, 5 this year, is 30 years old and has the equivalent of the 4th biggest contract in premier league? are you serious? Laughing

Chelsea is on the market for a CF but you guys are dreaming if you think they will look at benzema like a solution. They are much more likely to pay the release clause of a young striker like Icardi who is on 25 goals so far this season. Immobile is on 26 goals. Cavani has the same age as Benzema but he is a much more prolific scorer, 25 goals this season in league.

again you seem to forget that other clubs look for CFs that will lead their attack and score goals. No one looks at benzema like that. Zidane keeps saying he does "other things" "plays well" complete striker BS

and there are 3 parties in a transfer negotiation. Even if i dont believe in this theory that some top club out there wants benzema, What makes you guys think madrid want to sell and Benzema wants to leave? The man repeats it everytime he has an interview, there is no better club than madrid, he is a starter, why leave?

Agreed with nick, unless things drastically change- like ZZ and Perez take off the rose colored glasses and buy (and start) a much better striker to replace Benz, I don’t see him going. And even then maybe he would play back up at this point, he doesn’t seem very ambitious- might be happy to sit on the bench, come in as needed and fill his bank account.

yes, and a club wanting Benzema would really have to work hard at convincing him and  offering him something he doesnt already have in madrid. So what is Benzema missing in Madrid?

starting job? no
playtime? no
respect from his teammates? no
love from his coach? no
trophies? no
prestige? no
quality of life? no
long term contract? no
money? no
good weather? no

what is Chelsea going to offer him he does not already have in Madrid? this guy is fcking happy. he has 0 pressure, there is no expectation on him, he strolls through the year with peace of mind that he is a multiple CL winner and life is good. It's no surprise he completely stopped scoring, because even when he did, his position at the club was never in danger. Benzema beat the system, he beat the game. He knows CR will score and all will end well.

I said it earlier, accept that this guy is not going to leave for another year or two at least, and save yourself some hurt. My mouth would literally drop on the floor if he goes anywhere this summer.

Even if you sign a new star CF this summer, like lewandowski, there is always the chance that Zidane tries to play CR, lewy and Benzema together, just because. even if benzema spends more time on the bench, he will say that he wants to stay to compete. I see him doing the same thing Kaka did, running down his contract because he will never sign this big of a deal again in his career, unless he goes to China, and not everyone wants to go play in China. His contract ends in 2021, i fully expect him to be here until summer 2020 at the minimum.

@titosantill wrote:once again i agree with sports, chelsea already complaining about morata, they may let go of their coach, football isn't always x and o's, yes we know benzema sucks, i know he's been terrible for a while cos ive been crying on here for like 5 years straight that we needed to sign a co-cf, but coaches, managers, directors aren't fans; they have different priorities, if they can get a good bargain for him, trust me they'll make a move.....but that's the problem right there 'Bargain'; florentino 2.0 doesn't believe in that....he'd much rather do a james type deal. it'll surprise you, but i believe for whatever reason he'll have suitors.

Chelsea would actually like an upgrade over morata who has actually scored 11 league goals. Benzema with a Real Madrid side which creates a lot can't get more than 5 goals in an entire season despite playing every minute available.. Why would they go for him?

We had a co CF who outscored Benzema last year and he got shipped off instead of Benzema. It is pretty clear that this guy has leverage on the club other than sporting wise. He is a shirt seller in middle East and a Zidanes favourite. There is no point bringing anyone just to play Benzema even when he is playing bad. Let us make this one clear, he isn't getting benched regardless of his performance in Madrid.

we all need to be positive lol, as i said directors don't always think the way fans do, chelsea will be hard pressed finding what they want, with the summer coming up , i just have a strong feeling someone out there will want a link up play "specialist" who does "other things" than score goals....a few months back i actually echoed nick's sentiments- that if we sign a cf, zidane will find a way to still make benzema start...at this moment now i feel things are different (not with zidane but flo), and someway somehow he'll be sold. there's still a lot of time before the transfer window. all your arguments about his lack of productivity and why no team should want him are correct....but as i said you never know with managers and directors. i won't panic about this....not yet, give it time

I think Benz' career demise has been put in motion. He no longer is locked as a starter for the first time in 6 years. I think even ZZ has lost hope. The only reason he'd start is if he was a better option than Bale. For the first time in forever ZZ does not trust Benz and Bale anymore. The place next to Ronaldo is the only one up for grabs these days. That spot used to be reserved for Benz until ZZ' career was on the line. Silverlining of our otherwise terribad season.

Not sure any ream would want him though, perhaps straight swap with Mariano hmm i couldn't care less how we get rid of him as long as we do. You don't let a guy who can't score come off the bench to help you score, that'd be like a wasted sub. Either he is a starter or doesn't play at all, and he sure as hell should not be a starter for this team.

What do people think of Firmino. I don't know he seems like the only one who fits the description of a guy that can play next to Ronaldo and who can also score himself. We should definitely look to acquire him

I think us going after Lewa reeks of desperation and the club is basically admitting they should have bought someone when they had the chance but refused to make Benz more comfortable. He might give us a season of goals then become a liability due to age. Besides we need a faster player ffs and someone who pressures from the top. Lewa just doesn't fit that description for me. He is a great striker but a terrible fit for us so no thank you

Lewan does fit. He is the experienced big game player that compliments what we have. Right now we have an excellent squad in need of replacing 2 spots that of Bale and Benz. He is not a long term solution, but he fits in perfectly with what we have and need. We pick up him and someone like Salah and we are set with only some backups needed to complete squad.

As to the future, yes we would have to replace Lewan,  and Ronaldo, Ramos, Marcelo, Modric, Navas, but there is plenty of time for that.

Keep in mind that if we do shed Benz, we also need another striker. That’s when we can go after the next young talent!

we are desperate, that part is no secret; the club realized their gaffe even before the half way point of the season. we don't control the transfers, they control us, lewa might be an expensive stop gap till we can take control in terms of bidding and appealing to a younger superstar out there not under a long term deal. as long as we get a big time cf who will automatically start i really don't care who it is. 5 goals and two have been PKs, lol at this point, beggars can't be choosers

Lewandowski is also pretty underrated with his technique.. he's no zidane but he has good passing and a good touch. Much tougher then benzema and will give us a physical edge as well as a stronger aerial threat

Oh. He'll actually score too
