He came in January from Palmeiras for around 12 million.

Yerry Mina sounds like the name of a failed small time south american comedian or something
and based on his defending today that may actually be what he really is
seen reports that he's being loaned to Liverpool next season, uff. fans seem thrilled.

Travis clearly is RedO hiding on Twitter. He is quite slow, surprisingly. Honestly didn't think he'll be slow from how he looks.

it's in memory of Nelson Mandela
the match will be played on the stadium where Iniesta won Spain the WC in 2010
what a sending off for the legend

I even called for us to lose at some point so that Valverde would have nothing to defend himself with and we could get rid of him
Don't care about win streaks, I care about good style of football
You can go undefeated by parking the bus but what's the point if it's unwatchable

Barca lost and Messi is still undefeated, go figure. It's like Messi has carried Barca all season. Probably tops Messi 11-12, 12-13, 14-15 and Maradona 89-90 by doing so.

and yet he has a 5% chance at winning the coveted Balon D'or
not even the second best player in the world this time around

Messi is undefeated? I recall him being on the team when they lost to Roma 3-0 in Rome. Also, this ain't boxing. When Barcelona lose, he loses.

Doubt it has any single thing to do with Nelson Mandela but that is actually a fine send off for Iniesta. Ironically, he scored the winner for a country Catalonia trying (or did, I don't know) to gain Independence from. It's fine and ironic at the same time.

Atlético Madrid conceded the fewest league goals (22) in Europe’s top 5 leagues this season.

Saw Torres scored twice, sign him imo we haven't had a striker score two in a game since 2004 ffs.

Is this Valencia's best finish in like 10 years ? Points wise it's certainly very respectable.
Been a long time since they've been in CL haven't they

Definitely incredible for them to have turned around in such a short span of time from Gary Neville and all those troubles financially, to the CL spot 4th now, amazing job by the club.
And just to highlight again for Real, once again well off the pace in the league, and trying to make things up by the CL

The problem is that they always performed poorly in Europe every time they qualified for the CL. Sevilla and Atlético are way better in that regard.

Maybe in last 10 years, but before that there was a 4 year period 2000-2004) were they were finalist twice and lost in quarter final!

Always ?? Valencia made two CL finals in the late 90s/early 00's
This is only the second time in their entire history that Sevilla have made the Quarter Finals of the Champions League.
Valencia have played the CL two times in the last 8 years. Knocked out in the round of 16 once and group stage exit the other time.
Sevilla are marginally better(only because they made the last 8 this year) but that doesnt say much at all.

Re: La Liga Discussion 2017/18 part 3
No one can deny their greatness between 1999-04, but I was only speaking of their horrendous record in recent years. In that aspect, Atlético and Sevilla have been way better. Not only did they qualify but also made their mark upon Europe (Sevilla in EL and Atlético in both the CL and EL).
It's been a while since the last time they made Spain proud. Atlético and Sevilla on the other hand have been doing just that for almost a decade now.

Re: La Liga Discussion 2017/18 part 3
We're strictly speaking about the Champions league here and no, Sevilla havent been 'way better' by any stretch of imagination.
Before this season, they got embarrassed by Leicester in the knockouts. The season before that, they couldnt make it past the groups. You have go back to 2008 for their last CL knockout appearance where they got dumped out by Fenerbahce.
As I said, if you include this season, they've been marginally better than Valencia in the Champions League.
