surely Icardi. The technique to judge the height of the ball and then find the corner of the goal surely seem better. Although Sanches comes close second

Don't think this was discussed, but Champions League is no longer shown on TV in Canada.

The absolute media giants and TV sport monopolies like TSN and Sportsnet lost the bidding to a UK STREAMING company called "DAZN."

Which means DAZN has all broadcasting rights to CL + EL games in Canada for the next 3 years. DAZN isn't on cable TV, it's just a streaming service.

Hence, no more CL at bars, restaurants, or public TVs. Even if you wanna watch at home, you gotta get a subscription to DAZN ($20 a month) and then project it on your screen.

The most amazing part? When CL was happening live last Tuesday, those Canadian sports media giants were showing re-runs of MLS and golf Proud

Man, join you to my badnwagon anti-DAZN.
You can't realize how much I hate this DAZN.
They broke into Italian market this year for Serie A rights, and it was a mass.
We're used to watch every Serie A matches. EU avoids monopoly but we've always had 2 pay tv che reach agreement each other to have all the matches.
A pay tv withdrew from the market ( Mediaset Premium), just Sky stayed ( I am a Sky subscriber, so no problems.) , DAZN withdrew. No agreements reached with Sky, so 70% to Sky, 30 %to DAZN.
But the real problem is not this. I can also accept it, since EU prohibits monopoly.
DAZN is just awful service. As you said, it is streaming company. And it brodcasts so badly. costant buffering, bad images quality, it 's just so annoying.
Moreover they contribuited for a Serie A format "stew".Matches dislocated in more days, because they must help DAZN to expand . That makes so annoying to follow Serie A this year. Nay not to follow. I tried DAZN for a month but I gave up. So I'm not going to watch a good number of matches because of them. I hope it is going to be a flop.

I live in Canada, personally love this. I paid $150 for an annual subscription, downloaded the app on my ps4, and can easily stream any match I want in HD on my TV. Meanwhile before you'd have to pay ~$500 on cable subscription per year to watch the CL, and you'd be stuck with whatever 2-3 games TSN decided to show.

It does suck that the CL isn't in restaurants anymore, but overall it's a huge net positive IMO.

Also I don't know if DAZN is worse in Italy but I've found the quality amazing @Robes. Sorry tongue

DAZN is the single best thing to happen to football. I pay 10€ a month to stream CL (though I think they can only show some matches), La Liga, PL, Serie A, Ligue 1 and even almost every Ajax match. And you even get all the other sports no one cares about (american football etc) thrown on top.

It was quite bad at first (I think Germany got it first) but by now it works very well and the quality is fine on my TV. Maybe they need more time in Italy to make it work.

And honestly the price is just insane.

Yeah. It's pretty amazing, the only "big" thing we don't get is the Bundesliga. You can see the list here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DAZN#Sports_rights

But it doesn't seem to be available in the UK.
