Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
any Killing Eve fans here? Villanelle has fast become one of my favourite TV characters of all-time.

Doubt it. Stopped watching because each episodes of the show was less good than the previous. Makes sense considering PWB had less involvement as it went on.
And she's not on season 2 anyway.

I would say the writing can still come off a bit corny and inconsistent here and there, but it's pretty much on par with season 1, and as season 2 progresses the storyline gets tighter, i literally binged the last 3 episodes just now. The season focuses more on the growing relationship between Eve and Villanelle maybe a bit at the expense of some of the other character development, but then again the show always was about the two main ladies, and of course the palpable chemistry between Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer shines stronger than ever.
Absolutely in love with Villanelle.

that's just your own bias lol, ratings pretty much stayed consistent across the two seasons.

Everything and everyone is biased when it comes to opinions.
I found the show incredible and unique the first episodes and it slowly turned into just another generic show, that completely botched the season finale imo.
Can't speak about season 2 though. But I haven't got much desire to watch the second season.
Only show I have to finish and want to right now is Succession. But I don't have any time at all to watch shows anymore.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
I liked season 2 a lot, but it was a very different season from 1. I don't think it was better, but not at all a bad season by any stretch. Just very different. Still quite entertaining though.

I watched 4-5 episodes and then just stopped. Not that i didn't like it but like Sina i wasn't in a rush to finish it. It is good though. Villanelle is amazing.
You wouldn't think Jodie Comer is a scouser watching that lol

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Recent watches:
Carnival Row: Show grew from "eh good enough to burn some time off" to "huh this is actually pretty good" by the end of the season (although some plot reveals were very predictable). Would recommend if you're feeling up for this genre, but wouldn't place it particularly high on your priority list. 6.5/10
Drive to Survive: have to say I liked this a lot. Haven't really kept up with F1 since I was a teenager but this puts you right back into the world and gives you tons of access to the teams. Liked that it focused on the midtable and not just the fight for the top places. 8/10
...However, further research after watching informed that it's heavily biased. For instance they focused a lot of energy on Ricciardo and failed to mention when his teammate was winning races, a relevant detail ignored to make the 'shock' of Ricciardo signing for Renault bigger. Seems to have put narrative in front of truth, which made it interesting to watch but also untrustworthy. So I'll bump it down to 7/10
Undone: Show was very creative, loved the rotoscoping style, all the characters felt fully fleshed out and it had some powerful moments. Not sure how much more mileage they're going to get out of the "is she crazy or not?" story but I enjoyed season 1 a lot. 9/10

Haven't seen it, but you're wrong about this. It was a shock... The season started better for Ricciardo, he won at China and won Monaco with a broken car. He and Verstappen collided in Baku I think because Verstappen didn't want to be overtaken by Ricciardo. But the team sided with Verstappen because it was obvious what a talent he is and Red Bull's finest product couldn't be risked, so they protected him in the same way they did with Vettel and Webber before.
It was becoming obvious, the rift between Red Bull and Ricciardo since then. Then his engine started blowing up every weekend, in practice, in qualifying, in the races. All the freaking time. He racked up DNF after DNF, while the races he did finish he was never below P6.
It's not like he was irrelevant while Verstappen was winning all around. They both won twice.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
No I agree it was a shock. But the show made Max out to be an unreliable driver and suggested that RBR was backing the wrong horse, and made the Austria race all about Ric not being able to complete it without mentioning that Max even won it. They skipped over relevant details to make for a more 'dramatic' story in what some F1 fans consider character assassination.
Anyways, not my opinion, just what I found to be a common opinion about it on /r/formula1

This is about fleabag.
The fact Succession is not awarded in drama is a travesty overall (even though it's a comedy).

Really? Haven't watched more than one episode of most of the shows, other than Fosse/Verdon. But judging by hype, reviews and general cultural impact it wasn't close to the top 2 in that category.

She went up against a better actress and lost though.

Haven't seen Fosse/Verdon, and I love me some Michelle Williams but she ain't a better actress than Amy Adams, who has been the best Hollywood actress working at the moment for a while now lol

Of the shows it was competing with, I watched Chernobyl and Escape at Dannemora, and I thought Sharp Objects had better acting than both.
Haven't watched Fosse/Verdon and When they see us, but they're now in the list.
