Messi proved himself in two major nt competitions, to be the best player of the tournament and is one of the few to do so. Fakenaldo has never been even in top 3.

well yea, it would be weird to compare him to the likes of cruyff and platini.

It's a discussion on who are the next set of players who will take after Ronaldo and Messi. Neymar showed the most potential but he doesn't have it. He is 26 and Mbappe has more of a chance to win Balon d'Or than him.

He just doesn't seem like a player who steps up and give match defining moments. Look at his attitude after Belgium scored 2. His first instinct was to win penalty via diving. After that every shot and pass bar the last one reeked of cowardice. Put a 26 year old Messi or Ronaldo in that same position and they would have scored a hattrick past this belgium defence.

Last International trophy that doesn't include the Olympics (why should it?) Argentina won was back in 93. Also, that award Harmonica talks about he won in Copa America, he allegedly never accepted it.

That goes to show how little he cares for those things. He wants trophies, actual winners' medals, not some cosmetic shit that only he would maybe remember.

You know who has a winner's medal in an International competition: Ronaldo.

Messi would've three major titles if Higuain scored three sitters, like Eder did for Fakenaldo. Team titles prove nothing how good players were in the actual tournaments.
