Missed the derby as it's opposite my sleep schedule, but will catch the replay tonight on ESPN.

Great to see not just a win, but a convincing one too. Will post the rest of my thoughts in the Roma thread.

Well, it looks like we are turning it around, but I have to admit that Ronaldo has made Juventus yet stronger. To the point that I agree with Alessandro Antonello, Inter CEO, who stated that Juventus is the strongest team in the world. They have 2 complete world class squads that gives them tremendous depth, they are running away with Serie A and any competitor in the league has European commitments too. Now, they could have some bad luck and could be eliminated before the CL final, but that will make them even stronger in the league. So, it is my opinion that the league is finished.

No. I don't think anyone expected this.

Marotta's impact for us is huge as everyone knows. Big blow, I guess it's been 8 years and he wants to do something else. There was also talk of renewal in management, and that his views were diverging from Agnelli's, who knows.

Paratici is rumored to take over but it's not confirmed. It's also said that they have been evaluating replacements from a list for months in order to find the right person to join the team. Marotta will also temporarily remain with a role as a sporting director, I assume it's to oversee this transition.

All in all I think there hasn't been enough "alarms" as one could expect from the main man leaving, because I think most Juve fans have that much confidence in the management. At least that's my personal view, they seem to be doing this the right away, as they have done everything the right way since this group took over from Blanc, Secco, and co.

dominant second half by Milan. Sassuolo came out leaving too much space to equalize and they got done by two great shots now.

I read that Juve were afraid of losing Paratici unless they offered him a step up.. is that possible?

It's all gonna be conspiracy theories until somebody involved goes into great detail

Most realistic stuff I've read and heard so far is something along the lines of

Marotta is old school, wheeler dealer type guy. Was mostly amazing when we were rebuilding.

Along comes new look Juve with Angelli talking a good game about the future, rebranding us, getting heavy into marketing and the crown jewel of signing Ronaldo.

Now it's reported they're not seeing eye to eye, which probably means they want to replace Marotta. Paratici is younger and will end up being the replacement. Somebody else will come in for P's role. Possibly Zidane but who knows.

TL;DR 2018 onwards Juve is going for a different approach to 2010-18 Juve and Agnelli wants to remodel the board to suit that.

Deep down I'd like to think that Marotta threw a punch at Angelli because he stepped in and went over his head and signed Ronaldo personally when Beppe had 26 free agents and Bonaventura lined up with that money.

I never read this in italian media (did look for much about this either way), it would seem unlikely. Him and Marotta were (at least professionally) really close.

Anyway, today they released a list of candidates for the new board and Paratici isn't there. His role as a sporting director remains his, and is supposed to be strengthened but he isn't going to the board.

Confirmed now by Agnelli:

"Juventus will carry on working like this. The leadership within Juventus will change. Giorgio Ricci will take care of revenues, Fabio Paratici will be responsible for the sporting area and Marco Re for services."

and the news board will be confirmed on October 25th when the next meeting is due.

I wonder what's next for Marotta now. I guess that Juve is so far above the competition that it doesn't matter where he'll end up
