A really mature, experienced and composed performance from the team tonight. Shows how much we improved under Klopp, that these big CL games are becoming a normal thing and we play with such confidence in them. These kind of matches were only a dream a few years ago, and now Liverpool is competitive each season.

Let's hope this means that the team will finish the season in great form.

Well this season has already been more than I hoped for. (FA cup aside) I expected to be in a battle for 3rd/4th not a title race, I thought we may have stagnated in the CL and crashed out of the group stages after our away performances but nope we are still in it which has been amazing. Just disappointed with crashing out of the FA cup but really can't be too upset with this season.

we have been poor in away UCL games this season but 3-1 away to bayern was a good result and performence. bayern are not great these days but they still have players that can hurt you.

I'd start this team tomorrow:
Alisson
Arnold-Matip-VVD-Robertson
Lallana-Fabinho-Keita
Salah-Mane-Origi

He will also play for Brazil I think next week? I would rest someone from front 3 for Origi because he's been doing well recently

Both Mane and Firmino have NT duties but Salah doesn't. Shaqiri should start over Origi.

Wijnaldum is almost never getting rested, he plays almost every game, this was a good game to rest him for Milner so he can be a bit more fresh for the end of the season

Well, he has played lesser than the front 3 and Robertson.

Salah has played in all 40 games upto now this season.

Yeah but I guess the midfield players need the most rotation because they play with the most intensity, maybe fullbacks too, but Robertson's stamina is superb. It looks like everyone in midfield is rotating except Wijnaldum is always there and rarely getting rested, I hope he will have energy for the end of the season

I don't see why we wouldn't be playing our best team in this game, we shouldn't rest players for their nation sides, they should rest our players for us. This is a crucial game in the league because this is the last time for the rest of the season when we will play before Man City, so it is important for us to play our best 11 and get the right result

Gini is playing every game because he has been our most important midfielder this season, when he was out of a few weeks we ended up drawing the games with Leicester and West Ham and then when he came back we went back to winning ways, makes since to keep him in the first 11 when fit.

That's exactly why I want him fresh for the rest of the season, I thought he looked a bit tired in some previous games

He's a pro footballer, he should definitely have the fitness to be able to carry him through the last what 9 league games and a max of 5 CL games. If he can't get himself through 14 games then he really shouldn't be playing for us.

Half time 1-0, Mane with the goal from magic. Nothing else to note this half, glad they turned up for that second of the game. Hoping for a good second half performance since we have a break after this.

Fabinho needs to come off, he's being sloppy after the yellow.
