Was worried it would be similar to Nioh but it looks completely different. Hype.

...but Activision??????

I literally don't remember that shot from the trailer.

Thought it was new gameplay or something.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has no classes from which to choose, no character stats to level up, no option to create your own character, no multiplayer of any kind, no armour or weapons to find or equip, and no souls (or equivalent) to collect - or lose after dying. Just to reconfirm: Sekiro is the next big game by FromSoftware, the maker of Dark Souls and Bloodborne.

Indeed, Sekiro can scarcely be called an action-RPG. FromSoftware's Yasuhiro Kitao rather describes it as an action adventure game. One of the few elements that might seem familiar is your character's prosthetic limb - it's capable of hosting a number of gadgets, which you can find scattered around the world. That sounds pretty reminiscent of the trick weapons found in Bloodborne, if you had a temporary flirtation with a PlayStation 4 to enjoy that.

hmm Doesn't bother me but I do wonder if that might piss some people off tbh.

Well I suppose casuals can play this without worrying now. Think they are catering this for everyone.

Tbf I don't think those things were a barrier to entry for casuals.

Plenty of really, really casual games has those things. Maybe the difficulty and the reputation of said difficulty did but I really doubt they are making the game easy.

IDC too much tbh. I'd only even categorize the previous games as RPG VERY loosely.

Also, Bloodborne at launch and for a while the online was broken, I don't think I was ever invaded and also co-op was impossible too for a few weeks.

It's definitely not gonna be casual friendly, seems like the opposite as plenty of scrubs just walk through the game summoning online players. Can't do that now. Official quotes from Fromsoftware today were that you can expect tons of difficult bosses in Dark Souls fashion.

Also, some leaks surfaced a few weeks before but were dismissed but it's turned out that they were true - the leaks said there would be some online pvp in some capacity but IDK, maybe that was changed as they've said no online. But all of the other stuff they posted turned out to be legit.

we basically now have two branches of fromsoftware games basically.

1) the sure thing, hardcore, media acclaimed Dark Souls
2) and this new bloodborne, sekiro branch where they experiment, have fun with themselves, let their imagination go wild...

not bad, fanbase is set, we are buying games, let's go

I would say day 1 but I said the same about Bloodborne and I didn't buy it until months after the fact and stopped playing it despite the fact I was enjoying it when I stopped.

So I probably shouldn't promise anything.
