We should go for Aaron Ramsey he has one year left on his contract. Kovacic would be the better option, but too expensive. We really need another CM to team up with jorginho and Kante. In fact i would like sell Baka and Drinkwater. Or maybe switch to 4-2-3-1 if no new CMs arrive. , i am huge fan of 4-3-3 but we don't have the CM qualities. For me Barkley is not a CM.

Alonso is so shit, turning into Ivanovic 2.0 during Mou last season.

Some suggestions for CM's that we should be looking at: Idrissa Gueye, Ndidi, Chalobah (sigh), or perhaps Luiz could do a job there? I don't think Ramsey is the type of player we need but would be a good alternative to Barkley in more of an 8/10 hybrid role. Clearly Bakayoko isn't rated (we signed the wrong Monaco CM Rolling Eyes ) so we should move him on and get in a suitable replacement. Either way, we can't play Kante in every game so he needs a back up.

Shame we never shifted Alonso on when he had a lot of hype.

Ramsey would be fine as long as we also get someone to back up Kante but it would ruin RLC's first team shot.

Alonso was fine as a WB but is far too slow as a LB, can only hope Emerson comes good. Is it too late to try and sign Telles?

I think Vecino would be Sarri choice as the backup CM/utility.

I really want to see Emerson given a chance, i really wish Sarri didn't waste preseason on Alonso. He is so freaking slow and clumsy. Don't have a good feel for Emerson honestly.

There is definite holes on this team, and a lot of changes i would like to see. But honestly the game against City was not one to take a lot away with. We depend on Hazard and Kante so much, City would not run over our midfield with Kante on the pitch. We would have created a lot more with Hazard.

The system is going to take time, but i am worried we will waste too much on deadwoods.

I'm not sure we'll be able to get Vecino, but he would be a very good option. Emerson should be playing over Alonso, but I'd like someone better.

Agreed on the last point, too.

So Courtois has gone AWOL, and we've been linked to every GK under the sun.

We're likely to get Butland, but Kepa, Schmichel, Pickford and Oblak have all been linked. That order is my personal opinion on how likely each signing is, relative to each other.

Been having a look into the stats, and Butland is by far the worst in every aspect Laughing

Also, this happened today: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/6947313/jack-butland-stoke-leeds-mistake/

Please get Kepa, he is statistically better than Pickford and Schmeichel.

Yeah Kepa fits like a glove, but i am not going to get my hopes up. Unfortunately this is the state of the club, we really have become Arsenal.

Something has to change, i love Roman and what he has done. But it maybe time to sell, apparently Jim Ratcliffe is most interested. Richest man in England and season ticket holder.

I forgot to mention Sergio Rico, who doesn't look fantastic.

I'm really not sure whats going on with the club. I doubt Roman will sell though.

Not sure, as far as I can gather, a new signing on deadline day is possible.

For a recap on what happened today:
Courtois moved to Madrid (medical pending).
Kovacic has come on loan without an option to buy (medical pending).
Bakayoko is a few steps away from a loan to Milan with a 30m Euro buy option.
Drinks is being linked to numerous PL clubs and will probably leave on loan with a 2-3m loan fee.
All loan options for Batshuayi are being stalled for now.
Utd are trying to sign Zouma permanently, while Everton want him on loan.

Deadline day is over and no unexpected surprises, but we are not finished loaning out players.

Baka is on his way to Milan, Zouma's paperwork on the deal to Everton is likely to still go through, we're once again negotiating with Valencia over a loan of Bats (rip), Drinks, Tammy and Moses are staying now that deadline has passed.

Overall, an ok window, not great but not the worst.

i like our signings and its nice to have kovacic, i'm excited for kepa too. Although I am disappointed in us sending bats to valencia, I feel like morata was a dud in preseason- he didnt have a world cup so he should be ideally really sharp for the season.

The signings were great but I feel that we could still do with a better LB, CF and potentially a RW.

My biggest complaint is that we didn't do enough.

Well it is a bit hard to sign better players when we can’t offer CL this season. However, did we put Lucas paizon into our first team? It been forever since he’s been on loans, he can potentially be a good backup for the wings- hadn’t really kept tabs on him, but he was rated high when he was younger.

Nah Piazon will go on loan, he's not good enough for us. He hasn't even been given a squad number.

Zouma and Bat's loans have been made official.

If Morata doesn't find form, I expect to see it at some point.

Happy with that win and the clean sheet Thumbs up

Apparently Piazon might be staying, Sarri blocked a loan move to Milan. We shall see what happens, but I don't see the point in keeping Piazon and Moses in addition to our other wingers.

Sell Moses i don't see him a good fit anymore, can make a decent transfer fee out of him.

We should have sold him to a PL club, would have been great at Wolves for example. I don't think we'd have gotten more money for him than last summer.

I'd sell both Piazon and Moses, though.

Depends on his fitness, I think he might come off the bench again.

But if he is fit enough, I can see him starting.

Another less than spectacular win, but a win nevertheless.

Happy to see continued improvement, but this side still has weak points. Hopefully those get worked out soon.
