What were your most memorable moments/periods of this World Cup?

For me, not in order of preference...but those iconic moments you look back and remember...ones that instantly comes to my mind:

- Morocco own goal vs. Iran last second (Was at the stadium, absolutely mental moment)
- Kroos goal vs. Sweden
- Son's vs. Germany
- Rojo vs. Nigeria
- Cavani's second vs. Portugal
- The last 5 minutes + extra time of last round of games in group B. Insane stuff
- Mbappe's second vs. Argentina
- Pavard vs. Argentina
- Akinfeev penalty save vs. Spain
- That second ET and penalties of Croatia-Denmark
- Second half of Japan-Belgium and THAT ending
- England winning a penalty-shootouts
- Manuel Fernandes equalizer vs. Croatia late into extra time
- Croatia's president dancing in front of Medvedev after Vida made it 2-1
- De Bruyne's goal v. Brazil
- England-Croatia semi final match (I really enjoyed it)
- The whole shitshow of the final today + rain in the end that really made the presentation more fun

Just ones I could think off the top of my head. I'm sure there are many many more

Was there any moment without memorably moment? This world cup was the biggest surprise show ever. Dont know how Iran didnt make it to the final

Mbappe's performance vs Argentina, Cavani's goals against Portugal, CR destroying Spain, Brazil vs Costa Rica extra time winners, all 3 crazy Germany games and many more. Best world cup I have seen, too bad the final didn't live up to the rest of it

When Pogba scored and France went up 3-1 in the final. I knew the game was pretty much over then. It was also such a play for Pogba.... watch it from the start. The ball recovery and volley 50 meter pass behind the defender.... to Mbappe who then accelerates and makes a great pass to Grizzy... and then passes to Pogba who kept running and trails the play.

The one action showed everything that Pogba had done this WC other than scoring the goal.

-Iran vs Portugal game. They were so close to knocking them out of the World Cup.

-South Korea burying Germany

-I missed some of the knockout games but I guess Russia knocking Spain out has to be right up there

-Japan losing to Belgium in the very last kick of the game

- Belgium knocking Brazil out. For me, that was the game of the tournament.

An injured Subasic guiding Croatia to the next round in the shootouts

In terms of individual moments,

-Mandzukic's winner against England. I got instant goosebumps when he scored that

-Pogba's goal today. Reminded me of the old Pogba when he used to score screamers frequently

- Russia making it out of their group until quarter-finals
- Cristiano Ronaldo's hattrick vs. Spain
- Germany's shocking defeat vs. South Korea and T.Kroos goal in the previous match.
- VAR
- Mandzukic & Perisic performances vs. England
- England's it's coming home...
- Mandzukic vs. Mascherano moments
- Akinfeev & Subasic on penalties (Rus vs. Cro)
- XHAKA's goal vs. Serbia
- Pavard's goal

Bad memory I have, but I know its too many to name, reading all them above ones makes me miss the WC already too

You have to realize how different NT football is from club football.  You get 2 weeks here and there for 2 years and only 30 days prior to the competition to prepare.  So unless you're lucky enough to play together at club level, you can't create a very cohesive team... it's not possible.  League season used to end earlier and NTs had more prep time.  Those days are gone.

Cohesion is built when core players on the NT teams are together for a long while (like 8 of the players).  So over the years, that cohesion is built.  Spain and Germany getting knocked out early... they were the ones who were cohesive.

France were young and really new in effect.  Deschamps, as much as i didn't like it, picked a tactic that he felt his team could implement in short order.  France did the same in 1998.  After 1998 and as the team developed, they became beautiful.  I see that for us going forward.

- Schadenfreude ( Germany knocks  out in this way)
- Mbappe performance against France
- Uruguay - Portugal , probably my favorite match.
- All the matches concluded on penalty kicks. So thrilling if you are neutral
- Zlatan-esque goal by Ivan Perisic vs England(and performance) but also that amazing against France
- The football is coming home narrative by English fans. Some think it's arrogance, for me it's another demonstration on how Englishmen are basically the best one to create moments and atmosphere. It's been good for everyone England to go on in this WC .
