I believe this is the second season in a row we've committed the most individual errors leading to goals in the league. Main culprits this season are Leno and XHAKA with about five each.

At the other end, Lacazette has only managed seven goals away from home in the two seasons he's been with us.

was such a Misunderstood player before he joined us
most thought he is that quick striker that plays on the shoulder and constantly runs in behind but he is so lacking physically

His pace isn't bad, but he's not explosive, and a lot of his game is coming short and playing one-twos. Coupled with his work rate, he's a good lone striker for us but he's never going to hit elite numbers at this level.

I do think he has greater quality than Giroud did (as seen by his outstanding shooting at times) but we need more goalscorers and runners around him, not creators. Probably not a coincidence that Lacazette's best form was when he played with Fekir.

Now there's an idea. hmm

Speaking of away form. Our record over the years:

10/11 - 1st
11/12 - 3rd
12/13 - 2nd
13/14 - 2nd
14/15 - 3rd
15/16 - 3rd
16/17 - 6th
17/18 - 10th
18/19 - 10th

Has to be the players, right? Can't think of what else can be responsible for such a drastic decline.

For analysis sake, let's look at the midfielders we had in each of those seasons:

10/11 - Song, Wilshere, Fabregas, Nasri, Arshavin, Ramsey, Rosicky
11/12 - Song, Wilshere, Arteta, Arshavin, Ramsey, Rosicky, Benayoun, Coquelin
12/13 - Wilshere, Arteta, Cazorla, Rosicky, Coquelin, Ramsey
13/14 - Wilshere, Arteta, Ramsey, Ozil, Rosicky, Coquelin, Cazorla
14/15 - Wilshere, Arteta, Ramsey, Ozil, Rosicky, Coquelin, Cazorla
15/16 - Wilshere, Arteta, Ramsey, Ozil, Rosicky, Coquelin, Cazorla
16/17 - Wilshere, Arteta, Ramsey, Ozil, Rosicky, Coquelin, XHAKA, Cazorla
17/18 - Wilshere, Ramsey, Ozil, Coquelin, XHAKA, Mkhitaryan
18/19 - Ramsey, Ozil, XHAKA, Guendouzi, Torreira, Mkhitaryan

A couple of things stand out. One is the loss of Arteta, whose level head and intelligence held our midfield together during some troubling times. The other is the loss of Cazorla, whose two-footedness and supreme technique helped us evade pressure and pick open defensive teams.

Looking at what we have now, XHAKA is no Arteta. He's a more spectacular passer but his concentration isn't as good, which makes him far more prone to errors. Arteta was reliable in most situations. And we certainly have nobody of Cazorla's calibre. Guendouzi and Torreira are different types of midfielders who would play with a Cazorla-like midfielder. Ramsey and Ozil are the only ones left from that period where we could call our midfield decent.

XHAKA is obviously the problem
