Re: Who will win Champions League 2018/19 ?
how can we be in no excuses territory when you keep telling us we signed b+ players.Firenze wrote:Nishankly wrote:
Liverpool being mentioned lmao, We won't win but i'd like to see us reach the SFs preferably knocking out City again
why not? you just reached a final, Real are weaker now and you've spent silly money fixing problem areas. So either you think you fluked making the final last time (easy draw) or you're trying to worm your way out of no excuses territory, which you're firmly in btw.

I'm pretty sure city will not win the CL. Save your money guys.
Juventus have absolutely no excuses after signing Cristiano. You don't sign a champion like him to win league titles.

Atleti gets my vote, Costa and Gressy to lead them to glory.

Barca or Man C.
As Winter mentions above, maybe after every WC missing out on winning it, Messi just gets more hungry, and is just more focused, never more so than this year I think

Well, then he better hopes he doesn't end up facing Roma again.

Chelsea strong performance vs Arsenal, 2 games 2 wins, they look good to win it this year

Agreed. They look favourites, early on. It would be an impressive feat

Lol they are way too naive defensively.
Don't really think they have much of a chance tbh, they'll probably be the best team to watch though.

That's what you get when you play Alonso and David Luiz in a 4-man backline

Aside from them I have Barca, Juve, and City as potential winners too. I think it's a year too early for PSG but they have the individual quality to challenge regardless. Liverpool are also challengers. If Madrid signs someone to replace Cristiano's goals they will compete too.
Seems like the most interesting CL in years tbh.
vanDEEZ wrote:If the big names are RM, Barca, Juve, and Bayern, I'm almost certain it is going to be someone outside of that this season.
My pick would be either Atletico, or Man City.
BusterLfc wrote:They will have Costa, playing with Griezmann since the start of the season. Plus Lemar, Rodri and Martins. They will have great depth. Seeing the opinions of people who actually followed them, Lemar and Rodri are legit talents.
Simeone won La Liga and reached the CL final with players like Raul Garcia, Adrian, Tiago, Mario Suarez etc. In fact he reached 2 CL finals with worse teams than this. It certainly wouldn't be a surprise if he wins it with this team.
S wrote:Atletico are a cup team and this is the strongest they've ever been under Simeone. Don't see anything wrong with them being viewed as a potential winner. Atleast , I'd rate them ahead of the likes of Man City who are in the same boat as PSG as far as European performances go.
Bookmakers have Man City as favourites(along with Barca) and ahead of Real Madrid which is kinda surprising. They have shown nothing out of the ordinary that puts them above teams that have consistently performed in Europe for more than half a decade.
M99 wrote:Atletico would have had two CLs, maybe even four if it was not for Real Not farfetched at all to to think this might finally be their year with Ronaldo/Zidane gone and them having a stronger squad than ever. Injuries and referees obviously will factor a lot though.

Think this might finally be City's year. But it's open. No clear favourites atm. I think Barca will be in the semis this season at least.

Re: Who will win Champions League 2018/19 ?
What's wrong with saying Atletico or City might win CL. If everyone just bet that one of RM, Barca, Juve, or Bayern would win it every year it would be boring.
Edit: and I stand by my prediction, I do think it's not going to be one of the 4 everyone tends to list every season. I will probably be wrong, but the non "typical" teams are so strong this year. I really feel that of all the teams that are still currently alive, anyone could win it including Ajax.

With Hans current untrustable attitude, it really seems Liverpool will get away in Bayern and qualify. I do think we'll get City or United in the next round if we do end up qualifying.

Re: Who will win Champions League 2018/19 ?
We already nullified CR7 for 175 minutes. We already beat Juventus over two legs on away goals under a horrific coach. We beat PSG, one of the CL favs, in the greatest CL comeback of all time (outside of a final) with a second rate team.
There's only one answer.
It's United.

Easy Barca win. I only feared Atletico, we somehow don't get past them in the CL (while we always do in the league, strange).
No chance any of the remaining teams beats us tbh.
