I think by watching those movies, I learned that I actually like goofy, slapstick comedy much more...like Eddie Murphy, Jim Carrey-esque stuff.
Same. He's okay, nothing special though imo.

Watched 'Us'
mediocre
Doesn't deliver at any point. One of those that will make you feel 'meh' when the credits roll. Felt like Peele made the film based on the 'twist' which was guessable by pretty much everyone. However the symbolism throughout was spot on. He is good at that.

Someone needs to explain to me how Liam Neeson has a career in Hollywood. Such a random actor.

Mediocre?
Thought it was better than Get Out with its symbolism and messages and commentary overall.

Watched Dragged Across Concrete, pretty good albeit slow and tense for large parts. Some of the plot was a little sketchy too but overall I liked it.

Best movie of the year for me. I loved it.
Imdb says it's a 2018 movie (although it just came out to theaters last week here ). Either way, then best movie of 2018. Mel Gibson is amazing. I don't care about his personal problems.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
The Night Comes For Us, lmaooooo I think it is the most violent movie I have ever seen, no hyperbole.
I preferred the smooth action, choreography and wayyyy better storytelling of The Raid series. In this movie the story is simplistic, the fights are slower, scrappy and 100x more brutal. Julie Estelle's character is the best part of the movie, her final fight is absolutely bonkers. The director wants to make a sequel about her character. The movie does set up the sequel quite a bit.

I feel like this movie could be great, but it could also be terribly bland and uninteresting.

The Batman lore really is the greatest in comic book literature, and a nuanced Joker film has all the potential in the world to be great, but it also has the potential to be a clumsy film that glorifies and misinterprets (for bad) anti-social mental sickness, and we already have too much of that floating around.
This portrayal shown in the trailer does make it seem like they want to paint the joker in a "tortured soul" type of frame, lets see where they take this.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Is it really an unpopular opinion to think that The Village is a magnificent film?
I actually got lost in it. I don't think i even changed my position and next thing it was the credits. I think it was the atmosphere which was the most gripping. One of those that sucks you in. Also the characters of Lucius, Noah and Ivy were powerful enough carry an average plot and turn it into a remarkable film. The actors were picked perfectly for their roles.
I do think the film is advertised incorrectly. It's not really a horror film nor a thriller.

Hold on a minute....
Was that Roman fucking reigns LMAO?
That actually looks fun. Will definitely be a box office success. But it feels like they showed the entire film in that trailer.

Very much agreed. By far Shamalyan's best film.
From the acting (especially by Bryce Dallas Howard) to the score to the concept itself being fleshed out (would have worked perfectly as a series) to the predicament that the Village elders face (and the acting behind it as well) sold me.
I was sold on the film when the blind daughter holds out her hand for Joaquin Phoenix to eventually grab it; the whole direction of that sequence was magnificent.
So indeed very underrated.

That scene was one of the best shots I have seen ever. So much emotional depth to it without having a single dialogue.
